They do produce some CO2 at night. The 02 to CO2 photosynthesis reaction requires light, so the reaction stops at nighttime. Plants put off some CO2 at night, but I don't think it's enough to hurt people.

Show me proof.

It sounds like your logic is so far equivalent to "a car emits exhaust, so it must also emit exhaust when it's off"

Proof found, looks like its from Arizona State University:

Vegetation: Cause and Effect

Vegetation is one of the trickiest pieces of the CO2 puzzle. It affects the CO2 dome but is affected by it as well. At night, plants contribute CO2 to the atmosphere through a process called transpiration. But during the day, plants take in CO2 for photosynthesis.

The CO2 is formed by respiration. Plants do not 'switch off' at night, they merely close the tiny holes in their leaves (through which CO2 would move into the plant during the day), so as not to lose water.

I have plenty of plants in my bedroom and I'm not dead, yet.

I got my sister this fountain thing.. The bowl is in the shape of a flower thing kind of, it lights up blue, and it makes fog that overflows off the sides and disappears. It was about 70 bucks, but its pretty sweet.
