I've always struggled with approach anxiety. I have some general social anxiety, and I guess it's all linked.
It varies a little from week to week but has come back very strong recently, to the point that I just can't make myself approach.
All the tricks, the 3-second rules, meditating bla bla bla just isn't cutting any ice and i'm curious as to whether people have had any success in basically eliminating their inhibitions and anxiety with meds which made approaching 'easy'?

I only really approach during night game when i'm having some beers with friends, but even alcohol isn't really 'strong' enough to kill my inhibitions/anxiety most of the time.

Can people maybe share their experiences with various meds?

At the moment, i'm thinking either SSRI'S (I like that you can drink alcohol on these which I guess you couldn't do with something likje benzos' Also, i'd be able to get these from my GP at a guess so more convenient). Also wondering about some type of benzo (but then there's the issue of not being able to drink with them so kinda useless for me) and maybe even something like low-dosing LSD as i've read some interesting things about that

I know it's a slightly controversial topic for some, so if you don't really have any relevant input don't post just to tell me that I need to 'man up' or whatever lol.

Do you really want to depend on meds to go approach?

Think about this. Whether you take meds or alcohol or nothing, it's still you doing an approach. Why would you need drugs to go approach? It's still you doing it.

I used to have your issue, I know how hard it seems. I also know that doing the hardest thing (just doing it) is also the best thing. Yes, you'll feel extremely uncomfortable. Yes, you may act in a cringy way because of it. But you know what? It will pass, approaching will only upset you a limited number of times before you get used to it. The discomfort is just a feeling, it can't kill you or harm you. The random girls you approach are just that, random girls you don't have to deal with regardless of how it goes.

Think about guys who very frequently fap to porn, after a while it won't have the same strong effect it used to have, because repeated exposure makes it less novel. Think about watching violence, shocking at first but with repeated exposure it loses it's impact, it becomes mundane. So it is with approach anxiety too, it will feel like sh!t, but if you defy the impulses that stops you and just do it anyways, the repeated exposure will lessen the strength of those impulses. It ultimately becomes easier the more you just do it, your mind will eventually yield and give up feeding you with anxiety.

Also, lower the expectation for success. At your level success is to just do it in the first place, not to take the girl home. Once that becomes a walk in the park, then you can raise the bar.

SSRIs won't do **** for approach anxiety. I'm on the lowest possible dose of lexapro & it hasn't influenced me in any way...maybe if you use a placebo effect mindset & convince yourself that the med will help you approach, then I could see that working...also, with SSRIs it largely depends on your body makeup & whether or not it will work for you or give you crazy side effects. For example when I was younger I'd take celexa at the 20mg dose. It worked great for my depression at the time. A few years ago I tried using it again & my body has changed significantly since the time I used it, I had MISERABLE side effects..I felt like my body was on fire for about a week..pins & needles all over, my depression worsened, etc...also SSRIs are known to absolutely destroy your sex drive if taken for prolonged periods or in high dosages.

I've experimented with various compounds though over the years & can recommend a few;
-Kratom
-Phenibut + caffeine
- Testosterone injections

Kratom puts you in a nice mood (kinda like a pain pill would...the better mood you're in, the more inclined you are to talk to people..if you get shot down, who cares, you're still riding the wave from the Kratom)

Phenibut can be addictive & the withdrawal is nasty, I'd only recommend using it once a week or twice tops. It does absolutely dumb down the anxious energy you carry though..Phenibut mixed with caffeine is awesome...music sounds better, & the carefree mood I got from it was cool. It also helped me sleep better.

Testosterone is a cheat code for men. I feel like I'm 13yrs old again. When you're horny as ****, you'll approach. Before I used to overthink approaching...I still do, but since hopping on the jungle juice I have noticed I act on my impulses instead of thinking of 100 reasons why I can't do it.

Testosterone is one of the things I forgot to mention in fact.
I've tried phenibut and barely noticed a change in my inhibitions etc, unfortunately.
Never tried Kratom, but since i've had zero results with any of these alternatives (phenibut, l-theanine, and a few other things) to proper meds I don't hold out much hope tbh

Kratom has a ton of different strains & each act a little differently. I personally like the Bali Kratom because it's the closest thing to a Percocet/Vicodin in feeling. The Thai & Maeng Da varieties are a bit more energetic (probably the better strain for approaching in bars/clubs, & definitely the best strain for working out). Kratom is one of those things much like antidepressants where you may have to try a few before you hit pay dirt. Dosage is super important too...lower dosages like 2-4 grams usually works best for me, whereas some people need more than 10g to feel anything, but that would make me sedated beyond belief

For me I prefer to take Xanax "when needed" which is not often. Problem is no Dr will prescribe it to me. They want to put me on meds Im to take everday which I explained I do not want to. If you take most anxiety meds and suddenly stop. The withdraw is like a horror movie. Been through it a couple times and it was scary af.

A lot of the mass/school shootings had one thing in common...Most all of them were on psych meds. $hit alters your mind in ways that can make one a threat to themselves and society. To find the right combo of meds you have to try many until you find one that works for you with minimal side effects which is expensive and taxing on the mind & body.

Someone mentioned testosterone. Everyone reacts differently but if your T level is low it can cause depression. I'd recommended getting T and other hormone tests to ensure your levels are normal. If they aren't that could be the cause of some mental health issues.

Low test is a killer for the male species. Before I got mine fixed, my level was 102 ng/dl...which is basically a 90yr old man. My lung illness & constant hospitalizations wiped out my levels completely. Now I'm cruising at around 1200/1300 ng/dl (which is a bit higher than normal, but given my health issues my docs believe the extra boost is good for me) & I've never felt better. A book I recommend highly is the T.O.T. Bible by Jay Campbell...I read that book cover to cover before even beginning my treatment & I knew exactly what bloodwork to get, how it should be prescribed, ways to inject, etc. super valuable book I'd recommend to any man looking to go the route of testosterone replacement or using steroids in general

The best medicine for approach or anxiety with females in general is a dead steady source of consistent sex.

Two things:

First: I'm about to go through the DJ boot camp. If you'd like, we can go through it together and talk about our progress on a thread. I think this is a healthy way to deal with it. You can over come your anxiety if you're willing. It's not about manning up, it's about self improvement. Medicines and drugs are cop outs (opinion), and as Grewd indicated, their benefit will eventually diminish.

Second: Nothing worth having is easy. The medicine you need is SoSuave. The right parts of it anyways.

Bonus: we aren't doctors. See a professional before seriously considering meds.

TRT is basically using synthetic test for the rest of your life to keep your levels the same way they were when you were very young & the most vital. It's nothing like a cycle of steroids. A typical beginners cycle is 500mg a week of test cyp or enanthate. I take 150mg a week split over two shots a week, so I only do .4 cc each shot.
TRT you'll get way less side effects than you would a normal cycle because you're not blasting & burning out your androgen receptors. For an estrogen blocker I take .5mg of arimidex every 3days & that keeps everything in perfect alignment. I literally haven't had a single bad side effect since I've started. It definitely is a committment though; you're giving yourself shots for the rest of your life (if you decide to stay on, getting off would just wipe you out again if it was low to begin with) & you have to stay on top of everything with bloodwork, & doctor visits.
I weighed all my options & said that giving myself a shot twice a week & feeling optimal is a lot better than doing nothing & living like a slug all the time with no energy.

Studies have actually been done that synthetic testosterone can actually prevent heart attacks & low test can be a trigger for heart attack as well as other ailments you want to avoid (it's all in the book I recommended a few posts ago).
TRT doses wouldn't likely give you liver damage because it's not taken orally & isn't bypassed through the system that way. If you were to take oral steroids like anadrol or anavar that are liver toxic, you'd have to be far more weary of toxicity issues. Despite the bad wrap they get, taking NSAIDs for pain relief over long durations of time are far worse than doing a cycle of oral steroids for a few weeks. As long as the testosterone is injected, & your liver enzymes are monitored in your bloodwork, you will be just fine.

There are a few ways to take the testosterone these days (shot, patch, cream, pellet inserted in your bhole, & even a nasal spray)...the most bio available & most bang for your buck will always be the injections. The cream can be dangerous, it smells & sticks for a long period of time, so for the fellas that are getting laid. God forbid that cream smears on the chick you're banging...she's gonna grow a mustache mid lay hahahaha. My stepdad was too chicken**** to do the shots, so he opted for the pellet insertion & literally noticed zero changes...but he's also a fat slob who doesn't exercise or take care of himself. The nasal spray I heard gave people lots of sinus infections & other issues, so I'd steer clear of that one too. If you're deficient in the hormone, anything is better than nothing- but if you want the most optimal increase of wellbeing, muscle mass, libido, energy, etc...injection is the way to go

Love people who ask for advice, but then say “don’t tell me this.” What’s the point of asking for advice if you only want to hear sensitive, soothing stuff that won’t hurt your feelings?

Man up.

There are tons of meds on the market including online pharmacies , but addiction is another side of medication effect. I wouldn't never take any drugs without doctor's control, the number of addicted to pills people is frightening, every sixth US citizen takes psychiatric drugs, and the percentage is always climbing.
