I mean really old... When you ache all the time, can't move well... Need others to help you accomplish tasks you see as simple today. Examples tying shoes, walking up stairs etc....

Sucky part of the life process if you ask me

Carpe diem!

I think the world will end, as we know it, before that scenario occurs. Look at what happened this year so far and we have not even hit September or November.

I wouldn't bet on you having the same life expectancy as your grandparents

Despite the ageing population narrative, every chronic condition (except lung cancer) is actually sky rocketing

You will be lucky to see 70. Especially if you are a man

the alternative is worse, so getting old is not so bad.

old=can not do anything and know it;
young=can do anything and don't know it.

As you breathe, remember you can only take in one breath at a time. A breath from the past cannot be reclaimed. A future breath cannot be inhaled yet. You're always on the one that is happening right now.

I have 3 grandparents that made it to 100... 101,100 and another 100... the other one was 97. I don’t want to see those ages... the last few years of their lives were in a nursing home. I think like anything as you age your priorities change. They lived to see their grandkids and that kept them happy later in life. Me... i am 40 with no kids... so if i make it into my 90’s it will be a miserable existence... so growing old terrifies me.
Like others said tho... I don’t think we have many more years left.. the world is going to
Sh$t and a civil war is brewing

Yeah it scares the crap out of me too. I think the worst part so far is feeling my body starting to deteriorate. Im still in great shape but things that used to be no problem for me are becoming more difficult. Once you hit about 50 the drop off becomes severe and you start realizing your not invincible anymore. These next 20 yrs are not going to be much fun, i know that already but what you gonna do?
If i can make 75 i'll be happy, thats a pretty good life span and i dont really want to live longer than that anyways.

Hi Reyaj,
Naah 'taint too bad at all,the important thing is to look after your Health, your Money,Family and friends and your faith...I must say that I live life to the fullest, these times are difficult but they will pass bye and bye...I have never seen such incredible prosperity in my life,as a child I grew up in Post War Britain,in an age of Ration Books and food scarcity, queues 600 yards long to buy one banana a person...Thank God for America and their helping hand.
This is a philanderers site and I must say that as one ages, the quantity of available sex actually improves as you grow older, you don't bother chasing it but know where to find it,the ready availability of cheap drugs like Viagra and Cialis mean that you can feel confident of an enjoyable interface every time...Sure Feminism has made relating to many Women a pvissing contest but there are a lot of good ones out there and you can step around the whole issue by finding an Asian Lady...Living alone can be a bit iffy at times...I had bilateral hip replacements 10+Years ago was tricky, but after a week I was negotiating my third story Bedroom without much pain in ten days I was riding a Bicycle,in five weeks Dancing Tango....The tearing of a Medial ligament in my knee two years ago was more of an issue and I needed a stick for months...Like everything else in life you always need a Plan B up your sleeve...A few years ago my youngest daughter wanted help buying a home I steered her towards a Home with a Self contained Granny Flat in the back Garden,so she has a little earner and Please God I have a bolt hole if ever things go Pear shaped.

You want to get old or die young? How about just admitting that there comes a time when you can no longer do what you could at 18...or 28...or 38...or 48...or 58...

When you can no longer get around on your own power, or wipe your own asss, or remember where or who you are...like Joe Biden...it might be time to check out.
Either that or run for president.

What if you're breathing in and out of a paper bag?

Or you've got plastic bag taped around your head while you're trying to bust a nut?
Then congratulations: You are truly living in the moment.

OP, Any man who’s scared of getting old, which will be followed by his fear of his eventual death, and not surrounded by loved ones during that part of his life, learned nothing important during his earlier years…
Live your life well, without regrets, and learn something.

I plan on reading literature/books until the day I die. Right now, I'm very fit and stronger than any other time in my life in my mid-40s. It's my eyes though, sharp but tired. I'm still very coordinated if a little off-balance at times. My feet are very strong due to jump rope and it's jump rope that lets me know I'm still able to keep rhythm and move well with intent. I dread my 50s according to what you guys are saying about that decline. I guess it'll be more reading and less trying to be as adept as a 20 yr old in strength, movement, and fvcking.

Buy 'slip on' shoes, and take the elevator.
