Let's say you have a price list in excel. Rows change colors:

white
brown
white
brow
etc

I have price list information there, and I want to insert a row. Every time I insert a row to add a price for additional service that should go in between some already written services, the god damn color of the whole row moves, so that it's like this:

white
brown <------ insert here
brown
white
brown
etc

How to insert a row so that I don't mess the colors up?

How are you attempting to add a row? Are you selecting only the cell that you want the new cell to be added above (e.g. Cell A3)? Or are you selecting the entire row (e.g. Row 3)?

I just tried both methods you mentioned and both don't do what I want; first one moved just first column down and colors got messed up again in the first column, and second one did what I had before.

I insert rows by right clicking on numbers on the very left side, numbers which indicate rows.

Is this something you can email me and I can take a look? I would need to see the equations and conditional formatting being used.

Yes I can e-mail it to you. PM me your e-mail address.

Thanks for taking a look at this.

What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.

You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.

I'm having a hard time understanding the question. You're saying the color of the new row you insert isn't the color you want? All you have to do is right-click on the cell(s), format cell, fill, and you can change the color to whatever you want.

Or are you saying you want all rows to keep doing the white/brown pattern even if you enter a new row? So all rows change by themselves to keep the pattern going?

I was talking with him over email, and I think I helped him out. I haven't heard back yet, but I believe I gave him the solution. In fact, Bible_Belt, that exact link is what taught me how to do that about a year ago, which I just decribed to the OP in my own words in the email

I misunderstood the question the first time I read it, so if I misunderstood it the second time, maybe he will back here to ask it again haha

Basically I solved this problem by selecting all my table and applying the 2010 Excel table style on it. But now a different problem. Can't freaking merge cells inside a table. Outside a table it merges just fine, but inside, nop.
