Anyone been to Dominican Republic?

I am going to be in the DR in march for a week staying with a friend of mine who lives there. I have never been, but I used to work all over the Caribbean and have met several Dominican women (who can be pretty damn hot).
I am not going with the intent to hook up, but I will have plenty of free time and my own transportation while I am there. Do I stand any chance with the locals there as a tall white dude who barely, barely speaks Spanish?

I know there are tons of Pro's everywhere there for cheap, but I'm not really into that.

yea, I know its a risky place. Pros can be had for mad cheap there too. But I'm not considering looking into Pros at all, but I am pretty much guaranteed to encounter them. Quadruple wrap it?

well I made a free account at dominicancupid.com to see what the chicks look like there. At least 50% of them are fvckable and 20% are straight hot. My inbox is literally full, but I cant check it because I didn't pay. Looks like I might be able to do alright even with my horrible Spanish.

You other concern should be not getting robbed/killed. The Dominican is not exactly the safest place in the world.

I understand, not a newb to travel. I worked for several years where I traveled all over the carribean and into some more nasty sections of Jamaica etc. Been to Mauritania Africa where people were getting kidnapped by the Taliban. I think I have street smarts enough. Plus I am staying with friends who live there and know decent places to hit up ladies.

are you sure those aren't spammers with fake accounts? some sites load your inbox with fake profiles until you pay. use a legit site or meet some girls when you're down there. at least you know what you're getting instead of a tranny or some nut job.

it never seems to amaze me how full my inbox gets when i join a new dating site without paying. i haven't even put a profile picture up and it seems like the entire population of online women can't get enough of me. funny that.

no, pretty sure they are real, Im not a fvcking idiot, I've seen the spammers that are all over dating sites etc. A trained eye can tell the difference pretty effectively. I'm not planning on getting in contact with any of these chicks, just curious what was out there. There is clearly a higher population of people and women in Santo Domingo where I will def spend some time.

Its not like I am bragging in any way here. It shouldn't be a shocker that a bunch of young Dominican chicks are interested in a tall halfway decent looking American white dude. Its status and perceived wealth and the fact that I am not hideously ugly. I've seen this phenomenon other places I have traveled. I think this is why dudes with shatty game at home love to travel and talk about foreign chicks and how much better they are. :crackup:

Quick Field Report:
Been riding motos around the country for the last 5 days. Been a blast but I have not really had a chance to meet chicas since we have been on the move in rural areas.

My base is in Barahona, and Sunday night is a huge party night. All the locals cruise the strip with motos and cars and drink and dance all night.

My friend who lives here speaks decent spanish, I speak basically none, so talking with anyone is very challenging. He basically set me up with a chica who was operating one of the bars, and he stayed in his truck so I could have the apartment to myself. Good buddy.

I was pretty wasted, but brought the chica back to the place and banged. She spoke no engish, so it made for some funny moments. I was too wasted to give it a good go, so I passed out for a few hours and woke up and gave her a real healthy round two. Good times.

This was my first black chick. Of course she wanted dinero in the morning like they all do, I gave her a couple hundo pesos and sent her on her way. Not really a proper notch, but still a good fun night.
