I was considering going there soon because it’s an easy flight from Florida. I’ve been to Colombia and Brazil, which I was told were similar, but don’t have a strong desire to return to either. I’ve heard it’s been overplayed recently but I figured staying out of the major tourist zones would be a good option. Anyone with experience there have input?

Just because a woman listens to you and acts interested in what you say doesn't mean she really is. She might just be acting polite, while silently wishing that the date would hurry up and end, or that you would go away... and never come back.

DR is a lot smaller place, and the problem is that a lot of other American black men have been going there for a while. I'm of the opinion that the black passport-bro should learn Swahili (i.e., the entry language to the Niger-Congolese language family) and go mack in the home continent.

Seems like a good place just to go bar hopping or pub lounging somewhere and also check out some nice beaches during the day. I wouldn't go there necessarily for the women as much as just enjoying the night life, dancing and wine sipping by the beach or something.
