So now that I am in my mid 30s I am starting to notice some signs of aging in my body. We should all help each othe with tips to look young and vibrant.

Here are some areas that come to my mind:

Hair Loss: Anyway to improve this? Does rogaine really work? I haven't tried anything yet but I am beginning to notice this.

Skin: Any recommended creams to rub on our face? Will regular hand cream help?

Any vitamins or natural diet suggestions???

What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.

You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.

Eat right, lift moderately heavy weight, run moderately far at a moderate pace, don't smoke, don't drink beyond moderation, read, have a close social network, do something creative, get your 7-9 hours of sleep a night.

All that stuff will keep you alive and thriving far better than rogaine or some newly discovered vitamin.

HAIR LOSS

Finasteride 1.25 mg/day of Dutasteride .5 mg/day: DHT is the main culprit for hereditary hair loss. In clinical studies, Finasteride has proved effective in blocking 70% of DHT levels, and Dutasteride over 90%. Besides, Rogaine, both drugs are the only proven methods to stop, and in most cases, reverse hair loss.

Rogaine: Rogaine, also FDA approved for hair loss. Rogaine has shown to regrow hair all over the scalp--not only the crown. Studies have shown Rogaine to help only the crown, but this is because no further studies were completed on remaining parts of the scalp.

Nizoral Shampoo: Although an anti-dandruff shampoo, Nizoral containing ketoconazole minimizes inflammation of the scalp. Experientially and through others' testimony, Nizoral assists in preventing further hair loss. No controlled studies on Nizoral as of yet.

RU58841: This is a compound for chemical use only. However, experientially and through others' testimony, this liquid compound at 50 mg - 100mg day if rubbed directly on the scalp eradicates all DHT on the scalp. According to others' testimony, hair growth and halt of further hair loss can occur with daily application.

Toppik: This OTC product is the elixir to hair loss. This product does not prevent hair loss. However, when applied to your hair completely camouflages all hair thinning/loss with micro-fibers which settle into your existing hair providing the illusion of a thick head of hair. My personal favorite.

FUT or FUE hair transplant(s): Dependent on the degree of hair loss, these surgical operations--which includes removing hair follicles in unaffected areas of the scalp and transplanting them into the areas of hair loss--can run from a few thousand up to $30,000. PM for further info.

SKIN

Micro-dermabrasion, chemical peels, or laser resurfacing are most effective.

Myriads of other anti-aging solutions are important to incorporate as you get older. Feel free to PM for additional recommendations.

Thank you for this thorough explanation. It sounds like you have done quite a bit of research on these topics. I admit reading all these fancy chemical names and what not has me confused though :(

What would be my best bet as far as over the counter remedies? I guess rogaine right... because it both regrows and stops hair loss? Any over the counter stuff for skin that's good? I imagine all these fancy chemicals like Finasteride 1.25 mg/day of Dutasteride .5 mg/day require some sort of presectipion and are expensive?

If you have any kind of hair loss, treat it NOW. The greater your hair loss, the less recovery of shed hair with the prescription drugs outlined above. If you are thinning slightly, you have a chance to keep all your hair for LIFE, as long as you act now. If you wait, like I did 2-3 years, before getting on scripts, there will be hair that you cannot recover, and you will seek ulterior methods.

I started profusely thinning five years ago, and waited three years to get on Fina/Dut. Luckily, I did, but I permanently lost 25% of my hair. I recently got hair surgery to replenish those lost, never-to-see-again, hairs and use Toppik for the full appearance. But had I got on the scripts five years ago when my hair loss started, I could have avoided the surgery altogether.

If you are thinning, go see a dermatologist now, and request Fin, 1.25 mgs/day. The cost is negligible, $50/mo.

Rogaine is effective, but using it solely without the foregoing scripts won't show you much correction nor guarantee a halt on future hair loss.

For over-the-counter skin products, I use Aztec Secrets, Bentonite Clay for full exfoliation of white and black heads, and coconut oil as a moisturizer at night. Both are effective. Also let's not forget four grams + of fish oil daily for your best complexion.

The only problem with rogaine is that a bunch of people report an increase in wrinkle and fast face ageing while on it.

I would like to take it too but I don't want to trade my facial skin in exchange of a few hairs.

For finasteride it is scary stuff since a bunch of people report having very serious side effect on it like ED and impotence and those sides continue even after they quit sometimes.

The RU look promising I will look into it .

If I remember correctly, in the controlled studies, a fraction of 1% of the subjects alleged wrinkles with Rogaine and ED with fin, which is statistically lower than it occurring naturally without the use of products. The complaints you read over the internet relating to Rogaine/Fin side effects are rarities, the fraction of the 1%ers, without conclusive evidence that the side effects were spawn by the products. The other 99%+ers don't complain; thus you don't hear much about those subjects without side effects.

I can attest, having used all of the foregoing products I mentioned over two years, that I have no wrinkles at my age and no ED.

If you have hair loss shave it. I had hair loss since I was 21 and I haven't been in shape since I was 19 and I still pulled women and I didn't even shave it done, sometimes I would get lazy and have patches. A lot of women love bald men.....embrace it.....as for Rogaine....stay away from that chemical crap and try a more natural route like Aloe Vera, Emu Oil, Coconut Oil stuff like that. Different things work for different people. He is a natural website for hair regrowth tips, if anything make you own conclusions.

Don't take hot showers they dry out the skin. Use oil based soaps and use oils on your skin....Organic Coconut oil, shea butter, Emu Oil, Olive Oil....Whatever works best for you. If you want to get lean and toned maybe try calisthenics?

I got lucky I use to drink and smoke cigs and weed since I was 14 (I am 29 now) and use to binge drink for over 10 years and I was a heavy chain smoker at 21-26 years old (1 pack a day) and after I finally quit smoking weed and cigs I have no wrinkles to this day. Try getting juicer or blender and make green and fruit smoothies. And to keep your skin healthy and firm use a dry brush with natural bristle and get a face brush to keep your skin from getting wrinkles and removing dead skin and giving yourself a facelift

Ok so I am clear... I should go to a dermatologist and request Fin, 1.25 mgs/day. How is this consumed? Is it a pill? Do I take a pill everyday for life? Are there any side effects to this chemical? Be honest...

I don't even know how rogaine works either to be honest.... I don't think its a pill though... it looks like deodorant that you rub in your scalp?

Thanks for the OTC suggestions for Skin, I'll definitely order them soon and try it.
