Why "Whatever You Want" Keeps You Single

She says the movie looks dumb; you suddenly agree. She tests you with a little attitude; you apologize for nothing.

You think you're being easy to get along with. She reads something else entirely: a man with no edges. Nothing to hold on to. No friction, no tension, no reason to wonder what he really thinks.

The "22 Rules" taught me to push back — playfully, calmly, without needing her approval. Strange things happened after that.

For a while now, something like a year, I have been interested in the guitar and have become what other people consider to be pretty good at it. I didn't pick up playing the guitar to meet girls or anything, I just have fun with it. I know this question has been asked before, and meeting girls with a guitar has been labled as a "*****" way to meet girls but I was just wondering how I could use it at school to meet girls. I have played in the lunch room and expected maybe a few people to come up and talk to me about it, but few really did. Do I just sit alone and play with it away from my friends so people (namely girls) will come up and talk to me? I just have the skill and have never been very motivated about going and talking to girls and I figure it could be a good way to meet girls. Sorry for the essay, but I just want a little advice.

"I'm Not Looking for Anything Serious Right Now"

When a woman says it, guys hear a confession. A heads-up. A scheduling conflict.

Here's the translation: I don't feel anything. Right now. With you.

Watch what happens when a man triggers actual attraction. The busy career, the recent breakup, the "not in a place to date" — all of it evaporates instantly. The same woman who was guarding her freedom is suddenly free every night.

The "22 Rules" explain why. When the right switches flip, her timeline rearranges itself around you.

just play anywhere at school... make sure you are friendly looking enough tho.. not a gothic kid with an acoustic guitar.

don't walk around with it like you're the sh!t tho... just get a strap and wear it on your back like... a ... samurai sword...

and if people talk to you.. just say you're bring it to school because some people were going to practice with you... or you were going to help a few people learn.

You know, I'd like to know this too, I'm pretty good at bass guitar, and I'm in jazz band.

Hey mate,

I have also been playing for a little over a year, and I have a solution for you.

How good are you? Can you make up cheesy chords and lyrics as you go along? I suggest singing EXTREMELY LOUDLY about someone walking past. Just play with it have fun. It shows you have balls and you are a fun, playful guy.

But, alternate.

People are around everywhere, some will be constant, they will keep listening.

Alternate between cheesy half assed songs with nice riffs, or a song that everyone knows.

The point is it not seem tryhardish, so you have to have the balls to fvck around with it and do whatever, even if it sounds ****. Women don't like try-hards.

Hope this helps.

I think that as long as its somewhat a part ofyou and what you do its all good, just play somewhere, girls dig that, my friend had this guitar at school and he satrted playing and there wa sgroup of us there and we started singing really loud, and then some chicks came over and started singng too, pretty hippish actually :p my point is that its a good attention grabber and chicks dig it

"Nervous Around Beautiful Women? There's a Rule for That"

I could talk to any woman I wasn't attracted to. Charming, funny, relaxed. Then a gorgeous woman looked my way and I'd become a sweating, babbling mess.

The fix took me years to find and ten minutes to learn. Nervousness and excitement are the same physical state — pounding heart, adrenaline, flushed face. Your brain just picks the label. And you can pick a better one.

Rule 16 shows you how. You feel the nerves, relabel them as excitement, and let that energy pour out as enthusiasm. Women notice the guy radiating it. They always do.

play some malmsteen and be like "hey babeh, wanna touch my whammy bar?" in your best beavis and butthead voice.

join a band.

Have a reputation for being able to play ANYTHING, and i mean anything.

and just noodle and play some crazy marty friedman leads alot.

also, knowing songs like "wonderwall" and "Nothing else matters" will get you laid if you're alone with a girl. Bonus points if you can sing.

Guitar playing doesnt really get girls, it's singing that seals the deal. Play lunchtime shows at your school (dont know if your school does it, it's always fun when my band plays) and do some popular but not ****ty band covers (Incubus and RHCP = a lethal, lethal combo. Panties will liter the floor).

Singing is more of a "turn on" than just playing the guitar.

But, sitting around in the lunch room playing just annoys people. Your best bet, is to do a talent show, or a band or something where you can actually showcase your talent.

Thanks for the reply's guys it's good to know some of these things. People sometimes do lunchtime shows at my school and they are always screamo bands that can't even play. Hey and RHCP and Incubus are some of my favorite bands. (RHCP is my favorite band. I'm actually wearing the Stadium Arcadium tour shirt as I'm typing this)
