Why "Whatever You Want" Keeps You Single

She says the movie looks dumb; you suddenly agree. She tests you with a little attitude; you apologize for nothing.

You think you're being easy to get along with. She reads something else entirely: a man with no edges. Nothing to hold on to. No friction, no tension, no reason to wonder what he really thinks.

The "22 Rules" taught me to push back — playfully, calmly, without needing her approval. Strange things happened after that.

hey guys, hows it goin. I was just wondering if there are some people here who could help me out with an issue of mine. I am a pretty ****y / alpha / confident guy when im around friends, but for some reason (I think i know why), when I'm around my family, i just go all angry and shut them out. I'm 17, and i know it's bad what I'm doing and sometimes i just control my anger. But there are other times when i just get so annoyed by ignorance or stupid questions, i blow a fuse. I know its not their fault, and i know i shouldn't react the way i do, but sometimes it just happens. I think i do it souly to my immediate family just because i know they will never leave me or hurt me no matter what they say. Please, if anyone can help. I would really appreciate some anger management techniques you guys use, or if you are in a similar situation, i would love to know about it. Its killing me, i hate bein all angry, it sucks

"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

Just a thought, imagine what its like when members of your family get angry- it doesn't sound good! Is that how you want to look?

I can see why you do it because you think family is family and you can act how you like around them. Well theres no excuse for stupid/ignorant comments!!

You could train yourself to act calmer by taking deep breaths and focusing on how you want a conversation to end.

Most importantly talk to your family, explain to them in a calm manner why you are getting angry at them, show them some respect and tell them it is very important to you.

thanks for the advice, before the post, i did try talking to my brother, telling him that i don't like it when he makes fun of me (hes like 20, wtf is he thinking), but all he says is "ahh boo hoo, you gonna cry?" then i say no, and he starts fake crying, and it just gets to me, i mean, come on! I tell him to please help work with me and screams at me saying that its my problem and that i should take care of it, and that he is of no position to help me. What the hell?!!? I know thats hes just being an ass and I do have a right to yell at him after he pulls off some **** like that, right??

Well he's answered your question for you! He is in no position to help you because he sounds more immature than a 17 yr old.

You can yell at him/punch him etc... but it won't help much! The best thing to do is walk away, maybe leave off a witty comment by making fun of him!

Its gonna happen, he's your older bro... if you can deal with him you will learn to deal with other people more easily

"She Laughed All Night. Then She Ghosted You. Here's Why."

Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.

Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?

You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.

Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.

My younger brother (one year younger) is like that. I good punch fixes things. He's quiet and avoids me for the rest of the day! It's awesome! Then after 2 days, we both forget about the whole thing and we're friends again./
