"Nervous Around Beautiful Women? There's a Rule for That"

I could talk to any woman I wasn't attracted to. Charming, funny, relaxed. Then a gorgeous woman looked my way and I'd become a sweating, babbling mess.

The fix took me years to find and ten minutes to learn. Nervousness and excitement are the same physical state — pounding heart, adrenaline, flushed face. Your brain just picks the label. And you can pick a better one.

Rule 16 shows you how. You feel the nerves, relabel them as excitement, and let that energy pour out as enthusiasm. Women notice the guy radiating it. They always do.

I haven't posted here in a while, as I've been steadily improving my game. But now, my improvements will be put to the test.

Ever since some snobby chick said no to me at the start of November (she didn't even say no...just hurriedly walked away or something), I haven't been looking for a gf. I've just been more relaxed, and it's worked.

Unfortunately, all the Prom-time gossip is developing (Prom is in mid-June), and in one day, I am now sucked into the middle of it. Over the weekend, I went out with two of my close friend, and they're going to Prom (one is voluntairly going single). The other one has his date in mind and should be asking her any day now.

Me? If I'm going to Prom, I want a date. And over this past weekend, I figured out who I'm going to ask. This girl, I know her a bit, but not really really well. We taked more often in January, and now are beginning to talk a little more. Today, I was discussing this with one of my close friends, and some other guy, who is an eavesdropper apparently, heard the name of the girl and is all excited to see me ask her. The problem here is I think the kid tends to spreads rumors, so by tomorrow, I may need to use some of what I learn on "24" tonight in school tomorrow to lay down the law (just a joke).

I was planning on asking her to Prom torwards the end of the week, so we can build a little bit more rapport. But seeing how things may unfold, I might have to do it sooner (as early as tomorrow?). This HB 7.5-8 is also a Senior, so she may also be looking for a date.

Anything I should keep in mind here? I've never been in an "ask girl to Prom" situation before, and have been rejected vaious time over the course of my high school life (without a "yes" ). Also, I'm not exactly sure what exactly to do if she says yes, from now to Prom night - I assume I go on a couple of "dates" so we get to know each other better, but I'm not really 100%.

"She's Out of Your League"

You've said it a hundred times. Maybe a thousand. And every time you say it, you train your brain to freeze the next time she walks into the room.

Leagues are a myth invented by guys who are scared of women.

She's a person. She has bad breath in the morning. She picks songs she can't sing in the shower. She overthinks her own texts.

Walk over. Say something. The league dissolves the second you open your mouth.

I forgot to include that a couple of my friends and I have made a fun bet over this too...

IF SHE SAYS YES: They all have to go to Steve and Barry's and get a shirt from the college I'm going to next year - and they all wear it to school on the same day.

IF SHE SAYS NO: I have to wear my least favorite baseball team's jersey to school..and I'm a diehard sports fan.

It's all fun though. I may just ask her tomorrow, as long as people aren't around and watching.

Chose a girl that you are comfortable with and you can feel chemistry. You don't want your date ditching you upon the start of the night because you have nothing to talk about because you can't connect

Girls wanna have fun and attention on Prom night. So get her attached to you and play the game. If you don't, she'll find someone else to dance with.

A LOT of breakups happend @ Prom, A lot of drama too, because Prom only happends once in your lifetime and people want to make the most of it.

I am pretty sure I'd be alright with this chick. She doesn't seem like the type of person who would ditch me before the prom (if she did :trouble: ) and is not in that preppy/sl*tty clique. I would probably spend a little more time with her if she said yes to develop the chemistry even more...she's not the most outgoing, but not shy.

If she does say yes though, I will work on the whole chemistry aspect and as long as thta works, I should be fine.

I may have just gotten an in...

...according to one of my friends who I trust, HB 7.5-8 is really into basketball - both NCAA men's and NBA. Now, I'm, basically Mr. Sports at my school lol, and definitely know enough about the NBA, and probably enough about the NCAA to make a pretty good conversation.

I feel this can definitely help. With the clock ticking till Prom (my school is weird...dates are already being made - quickly, even though Prom is a little under 2 months away), I dunno if I talk to her about who the MVP is in the NBA or ask her to Prom first (it would just be "as friends, but maybe a tiny bit more", so it hopefully would not be too awkward if she said no).

"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

Is this a good or a bad thing? I would assume it means she'd also want/need a date, so it's good?
It's irrelevant. Go ask her already before it's too late!

Good luck.
-Any questions? Feel free to ask.

This was what I would do tomorrow (considering I'm home from school), but I had to fight and defeat some persistent rumors today.

Apparently, the eavesdropper only told one person, but that one person spread the word to others. I'm not really sure if it reached her, but I know word was slowly creeping about. Luckily, I have a very strong base with my closest group of friends, and they gave me a head's up about this situation before it caught me by surprise.
Before I started getting hit with questions from people who heard the rumor, I came up with a great story explaining how I threw out a couple names to my friends as "ideas", but for some reason, one was taken out and everyone thinks I'd ask her - it worked too.

Anyway, if things look good, I'll definitely ask. The only problem w/ this chick is she while she's cool, she's not hte most enthusiastic person. Anyway, I don't "like" her, it would just be "as friends."

One kid (I told him my little story and got him to believe what he heard wasn't true) thinks she isn't going to Prom at all. Since there's a good chance I wouldn't see her tomorrow morning, one of my very close friends (has a class with her) is going to talk about Prom in general. He has a date, but will ask basic things like if she's going to Prom at all (to disprove that kid's though) and if she's going with anyone yet (she isn't). She'll have no clue I'm kinda in on it (my friend knows the "story" too in case she gets suspicious, so he can laugh it off or something).

As long as things look good and the coast is clear, I'm going in!

As usual, any more advice is appreciated. This kinda got a little more out of hand than I expected, but I think I did alright in diverting these rumors and I hopefully have diffused the issue. I am really not trying to make a big deal out of any of this.

Of course, if things don't work out, I'll need to find a contingency plan :nervous:

"She Wants a Man, Not a Boy"

You asked her if she wanted to grab coffee. Then you asked if the time worked. Then you asked if the place was okay. Then you asked if she'd prefer tea.

Four questions. Four chances for her to say no. Four signals that you're terrified of making a decision.

Plan it. Pick the place. Pick the time. Tell her where to meet you. She'll either show up or she won't.

Either way, you look like a man instead of a scared little boy.

I doubt the girl will ditch you because the prom is such a ****ing expensive event (in our school at least) and her dress will cost a lot, so if you reel her in, she's yours.
Also, prom doesn't always necessarily happen once in your lifetime. I am a sophmore, and I already got asked to the prom (which is on Friday) and still have two years of high school left to go.
Needless to say, the prom will carve your wallet pretty well, and if you are already hurting for cash like me, your biggest obstacle will be to conquer your financial problems.

First, ask if she is going to the prom (she won't know that you know your friend already asked her) and then if she says no, ask if she would like to go. If she says yes, ask if she is going with anyone (you'd be surprised how many people go alone). After you ask these questions, the cat is in the bag.

That's exactly what i'm thinking. Senior will get extremely desperate to find a PROM date and will basically say Yes to any offer as Prom night nears. No senior goes to Prom without a date...

Believe me... If the girl is an underclassman, chances are that she could be immature, she won't think twice bailing on her Senior Prom date. She just wants to get in to Prom and have fun.
