I was just watching Inside Edition and they had a story about a young Firefighter who posed for a calendar for charity. He was terminated from his job by the Fire Commissioner because he took his shirt off for the calendar shoot. His dad was a firefighter and firefighting was this guy's life. He had to fight to get his job back and even then he was reinstated at a much lower level. Apparently all the shaming and adversity in his career was too much and he commited suicide. Now I don't think any guy should fold to the pressure, but that is what's wrong America being pressured. If a man shows any sexuality in the slightest way the system wants to crush you for it.

Fire officials claimed it was because he didn't get proper approval beforehand, but that's BS in the first place. No one should need approval to take their shirt off for a calendar.

I didn't interpret the thread in any negative way. People often make hyperbolic thread titles; recognizing that helps you understand they are not fact, but opinion.

As far as the thread, got me pretty angry. Firefighting is serious practice, not your some blue-collar job, but a crazy competitive career that needs 100%.
I don't know the story myself--I only know what Lee said(fireman getting fired for shirtless photoshoot)--but it seems like run-of-the-mill political correction.

You could say it was an example of demasculation, no real evidence for that however, in my opinion.

Yes indeed, any type of masculinity is extinguished by the established structure. For example patriotism and anything constitution is extinguished. Look at Ron Paul. But anything involving war, invading an evil dictator, chasing down a boogie man is considered manly and people follow it.
