Amish Farmer Facing 48 Years in Prison

His name is Sam Girod. His crime is not correctly labeling the products his farm was producing. No one was ever killed, injured, or even sickened by his actions. He was raided by an FDA swat team.

The jury found him guilty on all counts. He will be sentenced in June. He is 56 and facing up to a 48-year sentence. Federal time must be served to 85% completion, so he is looking at what will amount to life without parole. By contrast, I know of two actual murderers who each did 3 1/2 year sentences.

I could see the Government not wanting the Amish to succeed. The Amish are more self sufficient than most people and that means less Government needed. We know that's the polar opposite of what the Gov wants.

ANGER F*CKING MANAGEMENT classes. He beat an innocent guy to death. You don't have to do much digging to find out why.
