my wife and i were going ****ing crazy we scared our son lol

If you watch enough horse races, there are some races that are just easy ****ing money if you know what to look for. Baffert totally tipped his hand pre race

Bob Baffert brought his ENTIRE ****ING FAMILY to NY. He never does that. They barley show up to his races in California lol. I knew when they showed his entire family that he had this in the bag

I didn't bet on him in any of the 3 races. Kind of wish I had today though.lol I just wonder how good the field was he ran against today, seemed rather weak to be honest. I mean AP is a good horse but I really don't see a difference between him and a Big Brown, Funny Cide, Smarty Jones, Allydar, etc. I just think he's a very GOOD horse, but great? I dunno, I can't put him in the same league with a Secretariat and those others. I KNOW what kind of horses they beat(Sham was a triple crown winner any other year, he just was born at the wrong time). Maybe I'm just not seeing something about this horse that I should be seeing to make me think he's "great" instead of "very good".

I bet on Dortmund the first two races and boy was he a major letdown.

Goddamn, Backbreaker, I gotta hand it to you.

YOU were the first thing I thought of when I saw the headline (I live in Japan so I didn't watch the race live).

Many people talk all kinds of trash online about pretty much anything.

But YOU CALLED IT.

My hat's off to you.

You're like Babe Ruth calling his shot!

I can honestly put American Pharaoh at least, in the same disucssion as Seattle slew and affirmed. IMHO there will never be another secretariat, he was a literal freak of nature.

I've watched enough races and seen enough horses, that i would with full confidence take American Pharaoh over all the "triple crown almosts" the last 15 years with the exception of 2 horses, one being point given and the other being afleet alex, ironically enough both lost the derby and won the preakness / belmont.

I'm from Arkansas, I love smarty jones, but AP would run him dead into the ground. Smarty Jones doesn't have that type of raw speed like AP does. That tactic they used on smarty in the belmont would have never worked with pharaoh becuase they never would have caught up with him in the first place .

Now Sunday Silence and Spectacular Bid are a different story. I don't think he's there. yet. I don't think he will ever get to Spectacular Bid but I think sunday silence is doable if he wins the BC Classic.

It wasn't so much calling a shot. I watch races, 40 hours a week probably, all over the world, and he's easily the best 3YO prospect ON DIRT i've ever seen. ever. I knew he was something special when he won the rebel stakes basically galloping around the track by about 11 lengths. was not really that hard of a shot to call. the only thing i was ever really worried about was the jockey out thinking himself or him getting boxed in or something. but he's just too good for these.

What is scary in a good way is, i don't think he's really peaked. I don't think they've "got to the bottom" of him yet. This was only his 8th lifetime race. He's only ever really been asked to RUN one time, and that was the final turn to the finish of the kentucky derby when he had a really ride trip. he wasn't pushed in the preakness, he wasn't really pushed today. we won't really see him "run" until he faces older horses later in the year

What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.

You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.

I was pulling against AP because I really like Dortmund but d@mn he was a huge disappointment. You sure he's Big Brown's son??? Plus I hate Empire Maker who is the grandfather of AP. I bet on Tale of the Verve in the Belmont. I figured Gary Stevens would at least give me a chance. I didn't think Frosted could go the distance, otherwise I really liked him. I was yelling at the tv for Frosted to rundown AP at the end but AP just hit another gear and was gone.

dortmund IS that good. AP is just better.

remember after running against secretariat 2 times, sham was raced into the ground in the belmont and finished dead last. A great horse will make a good horse look bad.

This crop of 3YO's is much better than people are giving them credit for as will be shown once the 3YO's tackle older horses. Firing line, dortmund, frosted, etc they are going to make some noise.

I think dortmund needs to cut back to 9F though i think that 10F is just a tad bit further than he really wants to run
