There will be no gay parade on the streets of Riga this year. Leave that stuff for the West. Old Town should be alive with beauties from the communist apartment blocks surrounding the city. Not with ugly Swedes and Dutch gays/lesbians.

I was there last year and must say that it was pure Western filth. There were only a few marchers (mostly from Western Europe) and thousands of Latvian protesters.

Before you go criticising Western Europe, you do realise they're much richer than Latvia is, right? (in terms of money, economy, strength, living standards...hell, in everything)

Of course Western Europe is much richer than Latvia. Latvia has only been independent for what less than 15 years? Soviet rule set back all of the economies, and while this may seem surprising, a nation cannot recover overnight.
