Am I Too Old to Skateboard

Hey,

I am 24 years old and I am thinking about getting a skateboard and going to the local skate park. I have a friend who is learning how to skate right now. He is about 21 years old. I am NOT going to dress like a skater, though, I just want to skateboard. Anyways, do u think that 24 is too old to get into skateboarding.

I'm 26 and I cycle, bike. Picture a 26 year old in rolled up jeans, muscle shirt, military flak jacket with water, pedaling on a bike. Tha'ts me. Women love this. When I get sweaty I think they get wet.


Now that's for transportation, because my license is fvcked. But I'm training with every ride, and have ambitions to race and win.


Another thing I want to pick up is skating. I could just skate to a store.


Skateboarding is fun also. I see dudes skate past me. I even think they doing it as transportation. Do dress like skater. As far as helmet and kevlar goes. You'd look like a leather for a first few weeks, but as you pick it up you'll look hot.

Hell fvck no! You need to rid yourself of any and all defeatist midsets. We're never too old to do anything.

If you want to learn it, go for it.
I'm currently skating for 6 years right now.
Starting anything will be the hardest part at first but if you keep progressing it keeps getting more fun.

Mark Gonzales (old skateboarding pro) once said: "After every tiny thing you learn in skateboarding you can learn innumerable new variations of it."

That's the beauty of it. The more you learn, to more you can learn and things keep going smoother as well.
First master the basics, like getting comfortable riding around at high speeds and turning etc. Then get into the basic tricks.
Most people immediately want to learn the tricks (like ollies, kickflips, heelflips etc), but it's much more important to get good 'board feeling'.
