Why "Whatever You Want" Keeps You Single

She says the movie looks dumb; you suddenly agree. She tests you with a little attitude; you apologize for nothing.

You think you're being easy to get along with. She reads something else entirely: a man with no edges. Nothing to hold on to. No friction, no tension, no reason to wonder what he really thinks.

The "22 Rules" taught me to push back — playfully, calmly, without needing her approval. Strange things happened after that.

I'm gonna take a stab in the dark here and offer some alternative views on what CherryBreaker MIGHT have meant in his post:

1)If you're in a relationship where you feel that she has all the power and you've tried everything you can think of to get it back then yes, breaking up with her and then getting back together on YOUR terms is a valid last ditch attempt to readdress the power balance and possibly save the relationship.

2)If you can sense that things are going down the sh!tter and she's gonna split even if they appear to be fine on the surface again yes,it makes sense to end it before she does if only to save yourself some dignity and pride.

However,if you mean break up with her when you ARE in control or when thing's ARE going fine overall then yes, that's just retarded.

"She Liked You in March. It's October Now."

Attraction runs on a clock.

She flirted for weeks. Touched your arm. Found reasons to be alone with you. And you were careful. Respectful. Waiting for the right moment.

The moment had a shelf life. It expired around month two, and by the time you asked her out, she'd quietly filed you under "little brother."

One of the hardest lessons inside the 22 Rules: women rarely wait. Interest either grows or it decays, and nothing decays it faster than a man who never moves.

Make the move while she's still inventing reasons to be near you.

While I agree that this guy's "break up first" theory is a bit far fetched, he does make sense.

Women respond to that kind of emotional charge. Women do it to men all the time. They break up with us, then expect us to come running back like lap dogs.

A previous poster in this thread said "Relationships aren't games"...I almost laughed when I heard that.

TO MOST WOMEN, RELATIONSHIPS ARE NOTHING BUT GAMES!!!!

If they weren't women wouldn't do half of the crazy **** they do.

We as men have to get the idea out of our heads that we're dealing with logical people. I can't tell you how many times I've heard how some guy is in shock because his wife left him for seemingly no reason. These guys think they'll be spending the rest of their lives with these women, only to have the carpet pulled out from under their feet with no warning.

Yeah his advice is a bit extreme..but don't knock him like he doesn't have a point.

These kind of extreme mind games show no respect for the woman in question. If she has any self respect she'll walk away and never turn back. If you do manage to get her back, there will always be an element of mistrust and insecurity on her part, which is extremely unhealthy in a relationship. This will fester and mutate until it blows up in your face.

If you and your girl break up once for any reason, then you can never expect it to regain what it once had or might have had. Ultimately you will break up again, although this time for good. Guaranteed!

Incidentally, the same goes for cheating. If you want to experience real love, then keep it perfect. Leave the mind games to the low quality men and women with self esteem problems.
