Women are masters of subtle communication. We know it.
What meaning does a woman give when she dresses really well for her career?

Let's say a lawyer, or a doctor, or simply a secretary. They will dress really well, with a nice heel, with a good makeup, etc.

There are other women, in the same roles, who instead opt for a more sober look.
A look that is at the same time clean, but more comfortable, more work-like.



Besides professionalism, I've always thought that women dress this way at work when their relationship situation is simply not rosy.
I've never seen this as something about wanting to appear more professional or with more effort.


All this because of the work experiences I have in my sector where I see real estate agents, lawyers, doctors and many other career women... who actually seem ready... they give a message of availability.


(Think about it for a moment, why would a woman wear heels for an entire day?)

Dress to impress. If your lawyer showed up in frumpy clothes and sneakers, people would not take them seriously. It’s a sign of confidence and power. I worked with a lady that when she was ovulating she would ramp up the sexiness to 11. Few days later it was back to modest attire.

For most woman, the entire point of her career is the clout/status and so dressing up is a natural extension of that, it's performative self-importance.
