"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

"She Liked You in March. It's October Now."

Attraction runs on a clock.

She flirted for weeks. Touched your arm. Found reasons to be alone with you. And you were careful. Respectful. Waiting for the right moment.

The moment had a shelf life. It expired around month two, and by the time you asked her out, she'd quietly filed you under "little brother."

One of the hardest lessons inside the 22 Rules: women rarely wait. Interest either grows or it decays, and nothing decays it faster than a man who never moves.

Make the move while she's still inventing reasons to be near you.

Exactly where I want to be.
Incubus...Can't go wrong with Make Yourself of Morning View (for that chill/psychedelic stuff you might be into). Truth be told, all their CDs are amazing, but those two might fit your bill a little more.

OR, you could go the classic route with some Pink Floyd or the such.

you cannot go wrong with DJ Shadow.

These 2 albums are tops:

his latest one, 2004 - "In Tune and On Time"

and an older one, "Endtroducing"

"Stop Asking Your Friends What to Text Her"

Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."

You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.

She's been waiting forty minutes.

Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.

Some various 'chill' albums:

The Roots - Do You Want More?!!!??!

Broken Social Scene - Feelgood Lost

DJ Krush (I have Ki-Oku, Krush, and Jaku, all good, all different)

...that's all I can think of at the moment.

Some of his stuff is quite chill. I think DJ Shadow is amazing. I heard "Organ Donor" in 2001 and loved it so much I went out and bought the "Endtroducing" CD and was completely blown away. I downloaded his 2003 Essential Mix, which is awesome as well. His new cd came out last year, it's just great. I have nothing but admiration and respect for the guy, it's just mindblowing, his talent.

"She Laughed All Night. Then She Ghosted You. Here's Why."

Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.

Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?

You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.

Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.

Pink Floyd - Obscured by Clouds.......they released it the same year as Dark Side of the Moon, probably their most unrated album I think......although it's pretty hard to find in stores

Check out this band Porcupine Tree. They're like a modern Pink Floyd but can get heavier at times. I'd recommend Signify or In Absentia
