The devils advocate am I.
My view of what you call an AFC is someone consumed by females... consumed by having them, or not having them... with their life revolving around banging them or not banging them, by having the frustrations of having them or boasting about having them .. in either case both sides of the coin make the female the prime object.. afc, pua, dj.. they are all alike... simply making their lives resolve around woman... like breeding rutting pigs, alpha males, rafc and the like.. True independence is to make a break from it all... ascend to a higher level and NOT WORRY... not be concerned about the females .. about having to "get some".. about a selfish self centered approach toward life were you just want immediate gratification with disregard to the future.
I have watched this site mostly as a I do watching a trainwreck.. its fascinating.. yes .. and I come back and read this every so often.. and it never has changed...
And yes, I am single, and yes do not date really ever... am I frustrated at that? no.. why should I be? I have a solid job, great amounts of $$, with no worries there at all... and I have fun.... my house is THE PLACE TO BE on friday nights, sunday nights and some weeknights... cars line my house.. my basement is the poker palace... and its a hella fun time with most often not a female in site.....
Why do I say this? Do not be a slave to the female... do your own thing.. do not worry about scoring, picking up, .. do something more with your life... so sad so sad.. i see these lives who revolve around these meaningless conquests... is that really all there is for you?... Oh I know I will get harshly and brutally flamed by the people here who must defend their shallow lifestyle to the death.. go ahead .. sling your bows and arrows for I care not... I do not want to be you, nor ever will be you... I am better than that.

Maybe I mis-read your post but it reminds me of the 30+ y/o women at work that can't get laid. Every day all I hear is "I don't need a man!" over and over again. It is their anthem. But they're not fooling anybody.

Going out of your way to prove or show that you don't need women suggests your life is every bit as consumed by them as the people you are so quick to lump together and dismiss.

Your interpretation of what makes a guy an AFC is entirely misguided. Do a bit of homework here first and better your understanding before you make assessments like this and then start threads based on your misperceptions. Here are your reading assignments:

The devils advocate am I...If you have not noticed I have been around for quite a while, I am much aware of what the board considers to be an "AFC". The point I am trying to make is that I consider this definition misguided. Everyone is in the same forest. I am pointing out the pink elephant in the room. The reality being that most people here are preoccupied by the have/or have not issue of Woman. Why be so overly concerned with them? The one thing that sets us apart from other animals is our brain... to act and think in ways that others can not. Yet this site concerns itself with getting guys to be able to function at lower levels.. some of them seeming to want to be the alpha lion in a pride.

I think I see his point, which is: don't get a headache from trying to figure out girls, focus on yourself instead. There is some truth to it, but it's not completely true. If you are socially inept, last thing you need to do is NOT worry about girls. You should at least be trying to figure out what YOU are doing wrong, which, in most cases, involves YOUR poor judgment and attitude towards women. If you don't care about how women work, then one day you will meet a gold digger who'll rob you of your money and happiness that you have spent the lifetime building. A DJ focuses on himself, and that is his first priority, however he remains open to the idea of a woman's companionship. Learn to do this, and maybe you won't have to compensate your lack of success with women by building a better house, earning high income, and hosting poker parties.

By the way, your condescending "i'm better than you" attitude won't get you far with this crowd if you're trying to make a point.

Perhaps you are lost? This forum is focussed on men forming successful relationships with women. Clearly this is of no interest to you. so why post here at all ? I suggest that you seek out other forums to help you earn more money, be a better poker player, smoke bigger cigars or even how to be a better parking attendant for your boys every friday night.

Well, sure, one way to make sure you don't have any 'woman problems' is to just not get involved with them in the first place. If it works for you, cool. What if though, you're the kind of guy who likes sex?

Once again- you are probably on the wrong forum. Perhaps you should try the "Devils Advocate " forum, or one of the other numerous women's forums where posters can mount arguement for arguement's sake without seeking solutions . Were you the Captain of your Intervarsity Debate team by any chance ?

A "Devil's Advocate" is usually someone who takes an extremely dark or negative postion in order to provoke deeper levels of debate. Hence the use of the word "devil ".

you got me out of my cave.

I'm not religious but neither do enjoy the company of born-again atheists, if you catch my drift.

I love women and much of my life has been devoted to them in one form or another. I have no desire to change or eliminate my attraction- that's not the problem. I am currently taking a back seat in the pursuit department because I do need to heal and consolidate, based on my personal path which includes a heart-rending breakup and an my recognizing that I have AFC issues that I want to grow beyond .

I WILL take some of the amazing wisdom and support here from my brothers to grow into the MAN I am, but currently shackled by my own weaknesses, which hopefully are mostly on the surface.

The new me will be a surprise to all including me but I know that MAN will take full advantage of his power to cherish and enjoy his birthright and the birthright of any fully actualized and free man:

The company, support, bliss, and satisfaction of my Queen.

And yes, there will be auditions.

I am currently taking names and the waiting list is growing in both size and anticipation.

the shear irony of the original post.. is that "guys poker night" while still going strong as always has suddenly grown jealous of new competition.. "all girls" + me ..nights that start and or finish in the same basement.. my place described by the gals as the "ultimate bachelor pad"... still kinda aborbing this new development...
