"You'll Never Feel READY to Walk Over"

Next Monday you'll feel more confident. After the gym you'll feel more confident. After one more drink you'll feel more confident. After you get a better haircut, a better jacket, a better job.

You've been "getting ready" for two years.

She's standing ten feet away right now. She'll be gone in four minutes. No amount of preparation will manufacture the courage that only comes from moving your feet.

Walk over. Stumble through the first sentence. Let it be clumsy. Let it be imperfect. You will feel more alive in those ten seconds than you have all month.

Ok. So I was at a local bar last night and happened to catch a blond bomb shell checking me out. I was in the middle of talking with a few friends and was low on my drink, so I got up and went to grab a refill and was going to make my way over to her. What I found as I came back was she was talking to one of my female friends about me. I came up to the table and introduced myself.

We talked for a bit about her and the like. She gave me her # and asked that I call her. The touching/leaning into me to talk with me, eye contact was kept the entire time. I asked what she was doing this weekend she said she had plans Fri/sat. I asked what she had going on sat. She said a party with her sister. (I paused for the invite-it never came) So I told her “You are going to cancel you party with your sister and are going out with me sat. Night.” Well I was refused with a smile. I asked her to dance she said she does not dance… WTH!?! She dropped the “I am too drunk” line and said she needed to get back to her friends.

After a bit I ran into her again as she was talking and touching a few other guys. She made damn sure I noticed this to get my reaction. I was cool and just smiled at her. She did this to about 5 guys. At the end of the night as I was leaving she waved at me so I stopped to say my goodbye and wish her a good night.

Me: Hello again Amanda.

Her: Hello Jay.. are you leaving?...

Me: Yes..

Her: When can I expect you to call me?

Me: Well…. I do not think I will.. You blew me off to go talk to those other guys.. If you would have at least danced when I asked you too I might be able to over look that.

Her: (eyes the size of golf ball) turned to her friend and told her what I had said. “I did NOT BLOW you off!!

Me: Yes well I need to be off.. I was a pleasure meeting you Amanda.. Enjoy the rest of your night..

Should I call this girl? Or does she just want her ego stroked?

"She Liked You in March. It's October Now."

Attraction runs on a clock.

She flirted for weeks. Touched your arm. Found reasons to be alone with you. And you were careful. Respectful. Waiting for the right moment.

The moment had a shelf life. It expired around month two, and by the time you asked her out, she'd quietly filed you under "little brother."

One of the hardest lessons inside the 22 Rules: women rarely wait. Interest either grows or it decays, and nothing decays it faster than a man who never moves.

Make the move while she's still inventing reasons to be near you.

You might be in trouble, unfortunately. You already said "I don't think I'm gonna call you." so if you call her it makes you look weak. Then if you don't call her...you don't get a date with her. It's a lose-lose situation.

If I was in a similar situation and she asked when I was gonna call, I would just say somethin like "We'll see :)" instead of "I don't think I'm gonna call you." because if you change your mind you're going against your word.

*sighs* come on man. You sound like a hurt little wuss boy with this line. Any girl can see right through this. You gave her all the power...

You are going to cancel you party with your sister and are going out with me sat. Night.”

Don't be so surprised that she refused you with a smile then went off and started talking to other guys. I know what you were going for here, but your tactic was for $hit. I'll give you an A for effort though.

When you asked her what she had going on, you should have said 'cool, maybe we'll set something up next week', after her response. Asking her exactly what she's doing was a bad move because now you're being nosey. And that's not something a girl wants from a guy after knowing him for 30 seconds.

Blue gets why I came here to ask this question..

I was a little drunk last night and I think I went a little heavy on the "Look hotness... I wait for no lady" and now I will look like a weak weak little man if I call her...

However I will gladly swallow my pride and give her a second chance with the best looking/funniest guy in TN.

If nothing else we could be friends right?......:D

"She Made Her Decision Before You Finished Your Sentence"

Three seconds. That's how long it took. Your shoes. Your posture. The way you held your drink. Whether you looked at the floor or looked at her.

She already filed you away. Interesting. Boring. Safe. Bold. Before you even opened your mouth.

Everything you say after that is just her confirming what she already decided.

So stop rehearsing lines. Fix the first three seconds. Stand tall. Look up. Smile like you mean it. Walk like you belong wherever you're standing.

The words come later. The impression comes first.

I have no idea what you are after by that reply..

If it is about what all was said I just gave you the short version. I was able to pull out this girls life in about 4 minutes. I found out she works as a nurse. Trains horses on the side and takes care of her 8 year old son. She also was open with the fact that she has not had a boyfriend in 11 months. (Hmmmmmmmmm…) Might need to rethink why ?

My game might have been a little wet from the drinks, but I was able to pull off a solid 8 on her I would guess. “Hannibal” I was not..

who cares
if you can run into her by "chance" i think that would be better, but if you dont call her in like 5 days.... if she gives you that "oh i thought you werent going to call" bull****, tell her youll give her one more chance and set up a date.

I carry the same attitude with women, but my message gets across with saying very little.

If you try to verbalize that 'you wait for no lady', you'll screw yourself, girls will usually see right through it. Your attitude and body language should do the talking for you...

What would have been wrong with simply leaving the bar, waiting several days, and calling her?

I don't really understand the final exchange. It seems like you may have just irritated her. There will be opportunities to establish yourself as someone who takes no crap later on. I don't think you had to do it then, particularly because it was a bit contrived. I don't really think she was giving you that much shyt.

"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

What do you WANT to do?

Now is not the time for insecurity.

Oh BTW, never try to make a first date for Saturday. Women make plans in advance. Besides, Saturday dates are only for established quality women. i.e. ones you've dated for a while and have deemed DESERVING of your company on a Saturday night. ;)

imo you have the correct attitude, but your delivery was a bit off. a little less ****y and more funny.

it can't hurt to call her up. you've really got nothing to lose and something to gain.
