"She Wants a Man, Not a Boy"

You asked her if she wanted to grab coffee. Then you asked if the time worked. Then you asked if the place was okay. Then you asked if she'd prefer tea.

Four questions. Four chances for her to say no. Four signals that you're terrified of making a decision.

Plan it. Pick the place. Pick the time. Tell her where to meet you. She'll either show up or she won't.

Either way, you look like a man instead of a scared little boy.

I'm always looking for new ideas. I'm constantly trying to advance my social awareness and DJ ability.

So I'm at my library and they have all sorts of DVD's and what not and I picked up a couple copies of this show. Hilarious. If you can, get your hands on it.

The premise of the show is a comedian (Jamie Kennedy) goes undercover as different characters and plays pranks on unsuspecting people. He can morph into almost anyone, it's amazing. Then he catches all the hijinx on hidden camera.

So I got to thinking. How could I advance my DJ career? I mean I really want to step out of the box. Totally take the Jamie Kennedy Experiment and use it to my benefit.

In essense instead of being yourself you could be an actor playing a role. You could be totally congruent. Alot of people try to potray the bad boy image but aren't congruent. So what I propose is making a character. You know a bad boy, surfer, rapper, athlete, business man, whatever...something that is KNOWN to attact chicks and is FIELD TESTED. Get into character. Get the wardrobe and styling down. Come up with a back story and then take your "character" into clubs, bars resteraunts, night clubs.

This will help cure approach anxiety. Because it's not YOU. IT'S your CHARACTER. If you get blown out you can laugh it off. It is your alter ego. Look at Eminem. Before he adopted "Slim Shady" as his alter ego he was a scrub rapper from Detroit.

Seriously this is like the best idea ever. I've been running a Tyler Durden type character for the past month and it has been great.

Now alot of naysayers will tell you to be yourself. I don't buy into "being youself" because no matter what you do you are always yourself. Lets evolve men. Lets have some fun with this ish. Allow yourself to step outside your reality to become something bigger. Adopt an actors mentality and tell yourself you are just practicing for a role.

As for me? I plan on doing a few things. One is going to be a modern Miami Vice character ala Don Johnson. I'm going to rock a 5 o'clock shadow and wear some really cool sunglasses. The wardrobe isn't going to be stuck in the 80's..i'll have to modify that to fit into modern standards. After that who knows I might break out a little Vince Vaughn from Swingers.

Peace.

"So, What Do You Do for Fun?"

She asks it casually, mid-sip. And you feel the floor open up, because the honest answer is work, gym, and a couple shows you're half-watching.

Women rarely say this out loud, but a man with a life is attractive before he says a word. The guy who spent Saturday deep-sea fishing and came back with photos and a story — he walks in already interesting.

The "22 Rules" pushed me to build a life worth talking about. Turns out the fastest way to be interesting to women is to be interested in your own life first.
