Just how important is your income when it comes to a girl considering entering a LTR with you? I know this depends on the girl, but say her ex made good money. Would she normally want a new guy that made good money too?

it depends on the girl. Nothing else to it, sure money is nice but if they're a girl with brains they'll know money is not the only thing on the spectrum.

The type of money you make effects the type of girls you attract. Period. This is why the hottest chicks are paired with the richest guys. There's been studies on it, concluding that guys primarily are interested in looks and women are primary interested in money/power/status.

If you have a low income, fine. It's a disadvantage. Take it like a man.

DO NOT make it worse by being defensive, apologetic, etc about it.

From now on, you do your job because you love it, and you don't give a **** what someone thinks about your income.

Younger women don't give a **** about money anyway. It's only 30-40 Y/O that want to get married that care anyway.

i think that part of our self-improvement should be getting a better income. It's not about getting the money to attract women, it's about getting the money to be able to do the **** YOU want to do.

Income does matter. I'm actually glad that people here will admit that it does (unlike the "do looks matter" debate that rages about once a week). Males, in practically every species, are judged by their resources or ability to get resources. The males with more resources get more a$$ period. Humans are no different. Then add to it that we as Americans live in a consumer society.

Fear not though, it isn't an insurmountable problem. Other things do play into factor (personality, your game, etc.) Just don't kid yourself into believing that "superficial" things don't matter. After all a females looks matter to us men and thats about as superficial as it gets!

All western women have jobs now and their own resources. Survival only needs them to be fed well and sheltered, there is no mechanism for the evolution of a preference in sportscars (no neanderthal ever died from not having a sportscar).

After securing survival they will default to the second evolutionary benefit which is genetic fitness, which is outwardly expressed as good looks. I've been friends with enough women to know how superficial they really are. Its blindingly obvious when you hear them speak about men.

And I'm not negating the role of money/status. I think it will still help slightly, I just don't think it is what our modern women key off when making their mating choice. Just watch a film or a TV show with some young women in, watch as they perve over some dream guy they really like, then watch as they say 'oooh he's SO cute!'.

Use social observations to make your theories, not the other way around. There's alot of misinterpretation to be had between Darwin's Origin of Species and the girl next door. There is alot of wishful non-science in this field.
