Why "Whatever You Want" Keeps You Single

She says the movie looks dumb; you suddenly agree. She tests you with a little attitude; you apologize for nothing.

You think you're being easy to get along with. She reads something else entirely: a man with no edges. Nothing to hold on to. No friction, no tension, no reason to wonder what he really thinks.

The "22 Rules" taught me to push back — playfully, calmly, without needing her approval. Strange things happened after that.

Maybe not his logic, but his reasoning and manner in which he says it. This is how generalizations start, and why people go to opposite extremes. "Oh, being nice doesn't work... It's jerk time." - when it has nothing to do with being nice or mean.

He's also making the women look like the enemy. "It's just the way they are; they like jerks and use nice guys".
Lolwut? Pook never said "be a jerk". If you actually read Pook's stuff, he talks about the pitfalls of a nice guy and a jerk, and refers to a 'Great Guy' who has the positive qualities of both the jerk (confidence, dominance) and the nice guy (kindness, sensitivity).

Also OP... Dawkins, pseudointellectual psychoanalysis and Michelle Obama aside (getting WAAAAY off topic), my original point still stands. You asked how a woman's reaction to this site would affect our outlook etc and I'm saying it wouldn't affect mine because I don't care about a woman's opinion on sosuave. I wouldn't let a woman's reaction change my outlook or who I am. If someone can change so easily on a whim of a woman, they have no backbone or conviction and therefore can't be taken seriously at all.

The likely reaction of a woman to this website is negative (I'm assuming you speculate the same thing here which is why you created the thread). Sure, if you framed sosuave as "dating advice" and "a website which helps men understand women" it might not get such a bad reaction from ladies. But a lot of what's written here can seem controversial and have a feminist marching down the street with burning bras on a stick. Funny because a woman would fall for a guy who applied DJ principles... yet she would be appalled when she reads such things on a website. This is why I would find it hard to take the opinion of a woman seriously, because I know she says one thing, and does another.

A classic example is that a woman might give you the impression that doing whatever she wants will make her attracted to you...yet if you follow this advice, there will be no attraction.

And yes, I am tempted to completely discredit you as you have joined sosuave and are posting nonsensical $hit that shows a clear lack of knowledge of the main principles of this website. If you had properly read the DJ Bible and other material on here, you would not even create this thread, which is basically saying "Hey guys, a woman's opinion is so important and bigger than my own integrity that it might change my outlook, amirite??". And now you look like a fool trying to defend that stance which goes against everything this website stands for.

Sure, I gave Pook as an example, but you're disagreeing with many other respected members' opinions here like Rollo Tomassi and others. And of course, you're free to disagree with these people but bear in mind you run the risk of not being taken seriously if you can't back your opinion up with some sort of authority, experience or knowledge on the subject.

You saying "Calm down" is a bit strange because you assume I am actually taking you seriously enough to be butthurt by what you have to say. I find you (and this thread which reeks of AFC nice guy
sentiment) a complete joke.

And funnily enough, there is no deep-seated psychological reason behind my opinions (stop watching so many drama TV shows LOL). You pretending to be some sort of Dr. Phil guy is ridiculous and does not suit you.

"Stop Asking Your Friends What to Text Her"

Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."

You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.

She's been waiting forty minutes.

Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.

Jon, and everybody else getting their panties in a bunch:

All I'm going by is the quote that was posted earlier. Word for word - that's what I'm responding to. Not his whole encyclopedia of theories. It said specifically nice guys vs jerks - as is the common stereotype.

Ok...well then actually read Pook's posts properly before commenting on a small extract that I quoted. You'll look completely misinformed otherwise ...surely that's a basic rule of any decent debate/discussion?? If you're going to comment on Pook, read and understand his main points.

It's not an encyclopaedia of theories. Reading the main Pook posts like "Kill that desperation" and "Be a Man" is really not that hard and is infact the minimum requirement if you're going to have a discussion on Pook.

Not meaning to argue here, but the point of a debate is to discuss what is specifically mentioned by the other person. That's what I did... Commented on the post you made - as is.

I don't need Pook's help, or to read his stuff. I'm not here for help, but to help others. I was commenting on what you posted. That's all.

Why would it matter if she's a woman, though? You remark that specifically you wouldn't take a woman's view and reiterated your lack of trust, which I still maintain is a personal problem of yours. Seems like common sense to me. I'm pointing out that it seems really unhealthy - and you reacted towards that like I just set your balls on fire.

Well no, you're so blinded by your own rage that you are fabricating things that don't exist: I didn't say "a woman's opinion is so important and bigger than your own integrity", etc. Although you may like to imagine that I did, because then it might justify the bs you're coming out with in response to me.

I created a thread hoping to get some perspectives, you responded very passionately and heatedly and actually seemed pretty troubled.

I don't see what's foolish about this. Personally I find the prospect of reading the "DJ bible" a hideous prospect.

Sure, I gave Pook as an example, but you're disagreeing with many other respected members' opinions here like Rollo Tomassi and others. I'm terribly sorry I'm not here as another bible-writing "DJ god" for you to look up to, you clearly crave that.

You saying "Calm down" is a bit strange because you assume I am actually taking you seriously enough to be butthurt by what you have to say. I find you (and this thread which reeks of AFC nice guy

O how very hurt I now am as a result of these painful words and assumptions. I will now cry unto the holy pages of the... DJ bible.
(LOL, really.. it still sounds corny as hell, but shouldn't it just be called the Don Juan Bible?... I can't get this picture out of my head of a DJ with headphones and decks on a bible of how to be a better DJ.)

"She Made Her Decision Before You Finished Your Sentence"

Three seconds. That's how long it took. Your shoes. Your posture. The way you held your drink. Whether you looked at the floor or looked at her.

She already filed you away. Interesting. Boring. Safe. Bold. Before you even opened your mouth.

Everything you say after that is just her confirming what she already decided.

So stop rehearsing lines. Fix the first three seconds. Stand tall. Look up. Smile like you mean it. Walk like you belong wherever you're standing.

The words come later. The impression comes first.

I told a girl I was dating that I was on a site that was basically a "male cosmo" and she didn't care. I don't use any "game" anyway. I'm a nerd and just be myself (a good version of myself...upbeat, social, talkative, well-dressed etc.)

I don't try to impress any girl by pretending to be someone I'm not, which unfortunately is the message a lot of guys get on this site.

The idea is to be a better you, not form an alter ego that is nothing like how you really are just to try to trick AWs into sleeping with you.

I still have this feeling Pook was some 17 year old junior in high school typing all that stuff in his mom's basement.

Pook wrote some good stuff, like "Fifteen Lessons", but I don't take everything he said as Universal Truths. That's nothing against Pook. I'm like Halcyonique, I take EVERYTHING I read with a grain of salt.

Howabout a curveball be thrown in here? Has anyone ever thought that this site was more about helping men recover their dignity than about getting laid? As much as it's all so focussed on guys getting girls, there are so many life lessons that can be learnt here.

No woman reacts the same. Take for example the same neggin I may use on 1 girl which she will laugh it off. To another, I spent an entire afternoon being ignored.

women play games by default, and they generally win

why do they win? because men think its wrong to play the game

sites like this can make some women feel threatened

women know deep down that in a head-to-head competition with no handicaps, that men will generally win

also i'm not sure why there is an argument going on about men accepting dating advice from women

straight women have no experience dating women, and therefore have no standing in such a discussion. if they are curious about the subject and want to listen to someone with experience, i have no issue with that. but the minute they open their mouths and act like they know ANYTHING about dating women, they are flat wrong

we could probably learn something from aggressive lesbian women i suppose

p.s. "The Rules" has sold over 2 million copies and that's not an anamoly

This is correct, compared to the below speculation, which is wrong:

Compare the two quotes and it's pretty obvious who's the experienced one and who's the total idiot here.

Exactly. Sosuave is so much more than just getting laid. I've started a workout log (gained 13lbs in 8 weeks and progressed well on all my lifts), I'm reading different things to improve my inner game AND I'm doing a Don Juan bootcamp (currently on Week 3). Atom Smasher has a goal setter's club (see his sig). There are numerous posts about confidence, time management, goal setting, health, fitness, fashion, happiness etc. I'm improving in different areas because of this website.

Does thinking about this at all alter your outlook on what you do to get women?
...And to suddenly change all my progress and undo everything I learnt because of a woman's reaction to this site and forum(essentially what you have asked in this thread)???HELL. NO. Your question shows a HUGE misunderstanding of what sosuave is about. Maybe if you actually read the posts on here you would realise it's not all about getting women as much as improving yourself in all areas of your life.

Halcyonique said:

You didn't say it directly but it is heavy implied. That can be the only conclusion from someone starting a thread like this. You ask if we would change our outlook based on a woman's reaction. Anyone that changes their outlook on what they have learned on sosuave based on a woman's reaction has no integrity and would be the type of person that would go against their own beliefs based on a woman's opinion. You don't need to directly say it to realise that such a person is a massive AFC. Choose your words carefully and learn how to communicate properly if that wasn't what you meant because people will make simple captain obvious conclusions based on what you have written.

Halcyonique said:

Well if you actually understood that sosuave is much more than getting laid, maybe you would realise that reading the DJ Bible isn't a 'hideous prospect' LOL, Mr. "I'm too cool for sosuave".

So you join sosuave but don't want to read the information about the main philosophy and concepts of this website. Some of us are here to learn. Why the f*ck are you here then? And how can you discredit something you haven't even read at all and know nothing about? Yeah, take all information with a pinch of salt and evaluate it for yourself, but in order to do that you have to actually know something about what you're discrediting. You come across as thinking you're better than everyone else here and that you know it all without any knowledge basis and without a willingness to try and understand what sosuave is about (improving your life, not just getting laid...that the BIG difference between a Don Juan and a PUA) . You're also a Dr. Phil wannabe who tries to sound clever with your presumptious psychoanalysis bull$hit.

In conclusion: OP is a totally pretentious, arrogant, pseudointellectual cvnt who doesn't want to learn anything, thinking he's right and everyone else is wrong.

Halcyonique, how about you shut the f*ck up, accept you don't actually understand what this website is really about (if you did, you wouldn't have even started this thread), read the good posts on here, listen to people who are more experienced than you and ACTUALLY LEARN SOMETHING FOR ONCE.

Most women will react negatively to this site because any discussion of getting laid is frowned upon. (While that is not the main focus of the site, those posts are common.). Women can pretty much point to a guy and take him home, so they will never understand what men have to deal with.

Women also don't like competition so any discussioin about plate spinning will be frowned upon. While the self-improvement stuff should be very attractive to a female reader, I think most women would yawn reading those posts. Women want a guy who is already successful, built, and has great hobbies. They aren't interested in a guy who is "coming up."

DJ Guy: I'm gonna start working out.
HB: That's cool I guess. <I think he's a skinny loser who is wasting his time.>
HB: I have to go now. I have a date with the personal trainer guy.

<A year later... DJ guy is in great shape>

HB: omg you're looking good. You been working out?

That's how women are.

lol so true

there is a saying. people (women) judge you for who you are, you judge yourself for what you are capable of being.

99 out of 100 women could give 2 ****s about what you plan on doing or what you are going to be 5 years. seriously. IF you don't have that job now, if you aren't in shape now, poof. bye.

"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

I'd imagine a lot of women would find this website abbhorent, but whatever, maybe if certain women in this world treated men with respect than websites like this one would be fewer in number.

I find many views that women espouse about men appalling, but I am told to "deal with it". Though a lot of advice on this forum I disagree with, it has taught me to stand up for myself and not to make women the centre of my every being and as a result I am a lot happier and freer.

Yes

And what is even more funny is they want the guy with the hobbies and money to PATRONIZE THEM...even though the girl may have nothing going on in her life no job, hobbies, interests...just tits and azz..

So if that's the case why don't I just rent Jenna Haze or similar talent for a few hours?

Ha ha... Same.

It's true that women don't want to see you succeed. They dont want you to be better than them, it seems. A lot of them are competitive and all about the status. They'd rather see you fail and be a chump, so they can feel better than you, and bring you down. That's why they reject you, and tell you to get with someone else - then sabotage those intentions when you do. As well, they don't want you to focus on anyone other than them. Or, seeing you with other options.

As for the site and tactics... There's no reason to tell women what you're doing - because they don't. They just do it - hoping you won't catch on. They don't want us to know. It's all a game. They don't share their secrets, intentions, and tactics, so why should you?
