"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

A tricky situation?

I'm usually good at making decisions, but however, I've come across to a situation that is proving to be a tricky one to answer myself. So I'm interested to read what you have to say.

I'll keep it simple.

At my local hairdressing store, they've employed a nice looking young lady (nothing mind-blowing) who is learning the trade by the elbow when I went in to book an appointment.

With an appointment booked for next week and she will be involved towards the end, as part of her assessment. I thought I would ask her out. No harm in asking.

Sounds simple? Unfortunately it wasn't when I got home after deciding to take a break from further education. My mother has just recently, by coincidence, become her first client who will attend one day a week for a blow dry. And, unsurprisingly, my youngest sister also has an appointment booked in a fortnight's time with her.

Regrettably, I tend to feel, given the situation as it is, might be an imposition to ask and to some degree, an uncomfortable situation.

What should I do? Give it a miss and seek elsewhere as there are plenty more in the pond? Or am I being silly?

"Nervous Around Beautiful Women? There's a Rule for That"

I could talk to any woman I wasn't attracted to. Charming, funny, relaxed. Then a gorgeous woman looked my way and I'd become a sweating, babbling mess.

The fix took me years to find and ten minutes to learn. Nervousness and excitement are the same physical state — pounding heart, adrenaline, flushed face. Your brain just picks the label. And you can pick a better one.

Rule 16 shows you how. You feel the nerves, relabel them as excitement, and let that energy pour out as enthusiasm. Women notice the guy radiating it. They always do.

Mmm. I can just conceive my mother returning back there and to discover that, if she accepted my offer the week before '' Your son has asked me out!'' Not exactly reassuring is it?

I agree with the above. But I think it is important that you remain calculated in order to minimise unnecessary consequences. Think twice, do once.

I think I can do it. Depending on how it goes and if I feel the present situation is good at the time, I'll the toss bait and see.

Any more suggestions or tips?
