Yeah I don't know, this kinda reads as "don't ever do anything a woman wants to do unless you also want to do it" which is a bit extreme. In your example it sounded like she just wanted to see something else and you threatened to take your ball and go home. From her perspective you wanted to see a stupid action movie. But it sounds like you didn't have much respect or interest in her ("semi-gf") anyways.
