"Stop Asking Your Friends What to Text Her"

Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."

You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.

She's been waiting forty minutes.

Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.

So I went out Firday with my usual bunch of guys, we only went to the one club, a glorified bar with dirt cheap drinks and a largish dancefloor. Things were going well and I was having a good time, the HB7 working on the door for ID recognised me and basically waved me in, would have stayed for a chat but there was a queue behind me.

To cut a long story short I went outside to cool off and got talking to a guy that I've seen around, and occasionally watch the football with at the pub. The night before this one I'd seen him out with some women and introduced myself, got one of the girls HB7's numbers and asked this guy which girl of the 4 was the one he liked, before he could answer I guessed, rightly as well that it was a HB8 who he couldn't stop eye-f******.

Anyway I was talking to him on Friday whilst I cooled off and he literally just started praising me. He was telling me how confident I was the other night I saw him, and asking how I knew which girl he liked. He went on a bit to say that it looked as if I don't give a damn what women think of me and that I can go up and talk to anyone.

Now I already know all of this about me, and the people I live with get it too. What I find wierd though is that I managed to give off this cool, confident, doesn't give a s*** vibe to a guy I hardly know in the space of a couple hours. The question I'm looking to ask is, if one guy see's me like this straight away, do you reckon the women see me like this too?

Bit long winded but I wanted to get the point across.

Cheers

"She Wants a Man, Not a Boy"

You asked her if she wanted to grab coffee. Then you asked if the time worked. Then you asked if the place was okay. Then you asked if she'd prefer tea.

Four questions. Four chances for her to say no. Four signals that you're terrified of making a decision.

Plan it. Pick the place. Pick the time. Tell her where to meet you. She'll either show up or she won't.

Either way, you look like a man instead of a scared little boy.

Because of their biological and behavioral maternal instincts, women are naturally wired to pick up on social cues much more easily than men. Women have an unconscious (and also conscious) mechanism that signals you would be a good partner-0either because you have financial stability, good looks, confidence, etc.

In other words, people in general have the ability to discern these social cues that other people convey and generate. Men, however, tend not to give praise to these men because we think in a competition-oriented manner--one in which another guy doing better than you is a proxy for social subordination. Once in a while, though, you will meet a guy who is just plain cool and will give you praise and put his ego to the side in exchange of getting some of your insight; these guys are the ones who develop the fastest.

To answer your question: yes, women can decode the cues this guy noticed about you. In fact, they can decode them in seconds from meeting you and make inferences (although not always correct) about who you are. Dress really well one of these nights and bring a few very attractive girlfriends of yours to the club and see what happens.

Got to say Robyn that was a great anwser, thanks.

I'll be giving your advice about going out with the attractive females a go soon, I have a rather big selection to choose from haha, the perks of living in a block of 60 students in the first year of uni and then getting to know all of their friends too.
