"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

I used a new technique when asking a HB8.5 out today. She really enjoyed the way I asked her out, and I feel confident she would have accepted it  .............except that she told me her boyfriend would be pissed if she were hanging out with another guy.

So what is this idea I think so fondly of? Well, snapping a witty and funny line while being confident could work as well, my new way actually allows the girl to take part in the process...

What I did was make a one-question multiple choice quiz for her. The only difference between a normal quiz and this one is that w/e answer she chooses is correct. It's a win-win for both of us. Each "choice" from which she picks from is a possible fun first date destination. So the one I used for this girl was:

Let's hang out sometime this week. Here are your choices (I re-worded them so they're not University-specific):
A.) Lunch at student union
B.) Walk/Jog in the nice park by the campus
C.) Bowling
D.) Walk around and grab a bite in (the area where there are a lot of Italian restauants and a nice dessert place)

Take your pick (keep in mind that the only possible answers are A, B, C, or D ;) )

It's not a method many guys use, but it's one that the girl will like, since it's original and creative. It also shows confidence that you "know" she'll say yes. If she says yes, you're set. If she says no, you know how she feels (so you won't need to think about her anymore) and I think creating the answer choices is pretty fun as well (atleast not boring).

"So, What Do You Do for Fun?"

She asks it casually, mid-sip. And you feel the floor open up, because the honest answer is work, gym, and a couple shows you're half-watching.

Women rarely say this out loud, but a man with a life is attractive before he says a word. The guy who spent Saturday deep-sea fishing and came back with photos and a story — he walks in already interesting.

The "22 Rules" pushed me to build a life worth talking about. Turns out the fastest way to be interesting to women is to be interested in your own life first.

if she likes you it doesnt matter the way you ask her out
If only you could read into a girl's mind and know for sure that she likes you. ;)

Most of the time we really can't tell if the girl likes us or not - hence, us guys tend to get a little nervous when asking a girl out.

And when you do ask the girl out...(refer to my new technique as a possible idea).

Any other thoughts?

I don't think you would use this everytime (such as if you're walking with her or w/e), but in certain situations (if you have to go somewhere, if you're just dropping by, etc.), I feel this is a good way of asking a girl out.

It all becomes part of your arsenal...you never know when an approach or date-close like this may come in handy. Nice one.

Too many options starting with the day writing down every option you have as a date idea or at least several of them is actually worst than simply asking her and leaving the date up in the air as well is bad.
Women dont want to think about all that stuff.
Your quiz is asking her where she wants to go and when this might work if a woman did this to a man but a man doing this to a woman is going to get you what you got more times than not.
It is coming from a really weak and needy frame and woman dont like that.
