volunteer at homeless shelters - church- hospitals- foodbanks. Make friends at a gym. Join a martial arts class. Join a Yoga class. Go to Starbucks or at a coffee shop in the evening- be a regular and be friends with the staff and baristas, take up skateboarding and befriend the young skaters there, play pick up basketball at the park, sign up for an art class at your local university, become a volunteer firefighter, get a dog and walk it at the park daily- you’ve gained a new friend, call up your old high school and elementary buddies on facebook messenger, join a morning biking group, sign up for a meditation class at the VA, plan a random bbq party at your house and go to your local university and pass out flyers and invite people there……etc……The list goes on, but in order to truely enjoy this, you must be happy and enjoy being content being alone….cause there’s nothing like sitting on your couch after a long day or the first thing in the morning…reading a good book or watching a movie…having a glass of wine or coffee…enjoying your peace and quiet.
