"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

getting buff is almost all about what you eat, follow greenlake's list of foods, it's perfect. but i would recommend starting higher than 2500 calories, try 3000 work your way up quickly to maybe 4-5 thousand calories a day

"She Laughed All Night. Then She Ghosted You. Here's Why."

Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.

Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?

You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.

Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.

The problem is it makes me (or you) more arrogant and it just shows in your BL. A lot of people will hate you for it to. But who cares man, this is your life, get huge. It's just a feeling of domination one can't describe. If you've already got the face, get the body and you will be unstoppable. It's such a turn on to girls, they get attracted, they start appearing out of nowhere in your way and practically beg you to open them. I remember the time I had no body, and believe me there's a tremendous change in your confidence, your body language, even that 'killer' kind of look in your eye, and obviously what people think about you.

I'll tell you man, random people I talk to about anything.. any subject.. all of a sudden out of nowhere they say "Damn, man, what are you eating? I gotta get to the gym!" Your body will actually 'inspire' AFC's that are a part of your life in some way. It's powerful man. Just don't let it get to your head.

Get a trainer if you can. Form is the most important thing. It's not how much you lift, it's how well you lift. Eat lots of food, make sure it's clean because you don't want to gain any weight on your face.
Good post. Have admit dude, your enthusiasm is highly infectious. keep it coming!:)

^ ^ Your post is exactly what I needed to see, keeps me motivated...

That's my exact point, its not that I don't already get attention from females and don't fvck females, I do and did pretty regularly when I was single, but the difference was that when I gamed, I had to put in some effort (sometimes alot, sometimes a little, but mostly ALOT), meaning I had to learn how to flirt and how to touch and display sexualness and other techniques, also had to put up with some games and all that mess...

I in turn see other DJ's and AFC's who are stacked and they DO NOT TRY. I'm being as serious as a heart-attack, these cats litteraly walk around and girls are whispering, "he's so hot" and when he's not there they are talking about these guys. Is the skinny handsome guy in the corner laying the HB8 at the computer ?? Sure, he might be but he had to PUT IN WORK... No one is whispering about that dude, did I lay a few girls in some of my classes now, ummm yes lol but that dosen't mean when I walk through the hallways my name is whispered and girls are fainting....

Here's what i'm talking about, there is a guy in my apartment complex who has the connections EVERYWHERE and he's a likeable guy, he knows all the females and has some good game and has an HB8.5 gf and he's not as good looking as me... he's about a 6.... He gets girls easy, but in comparison to this other guy who is also in my building who has NO connection, the raw sex appeal is NOOOOO CONTEST....

I've seen this stacked behemouth in the laundry room and females look like they are secretly fingering themselves ! Now the guy with connections gets hugs and stuff and i'm sure he fvcks alot (when he was single) but he had to work for that status, this other guy just walks around... its over... I've never seen him talk, but if he ever decided to speak to any female in my apartment, its over... he's fvcking....

So for everone reading, I just want that life and i'm working for it... don't hate me for it...

I haven't had any success yet, but more and more, I notice women checking me out. I've gone from chunky 6ft, 190lbs three years ago to a more slim, 160lbs w/9% body fat. Plus buying cloths that fit really make you feel good. I used to wear baggy crap, like 40 in waist and XL Tshirts! Now I wear 33 waist and small shirts, and it really gives one a sense of power.

~sigh~ I feel confident, but I have yet to get the confidence to approach some girls. Maybe it's because of "oneities". There isn't "one" particular girl that I'm interested in, but there are a few in my classes that I am interested in. I guess when your in a major like mine, you don't want to have anything akward happen since you know you'll see these people in your classes later on.

"She Wants a Man, Not a Boy"

You asked her if she wanted to grab coffee. Then you asked if the time worked. Then you asked if the place was okay. Then you asked if she'd prefer tea.

Four questions. Four chances for her to say no. Four signals that you're terrified of making a decision.

Plan it. Pick the place. Pick the time. Tell her where to meet you. She'll either show up or she won't.

Either way, you look like a man instead of a scared little boy.

Listen dude When i used to be really muscular in m early 20's I used to get so much attention from woman. Woman love muscular men they will never admit it. Just like us guys like huge boobs. The bigger the better but we will never admit it to a girl.

Yes I put on roughly 50lbs in 5 months. I would estimate ~35-37lbs of it being muscle mass.
Oh, bull-fvcking-shyt you put 35lbs of muscle in five months. I know you THINK you did, but you are SERIOUSLY deluded.

But you're not alone. Something like 80% or so of wannabe bodybuilders are seriously deluded.

Unless you are genetically gifted (the vast majority are NOT) this shyt takes YEARS. (Genetics are about 90% of the game too. Most people can improve, but nothing like what they THINK (dream) is possible.)

Plastic Surgeon, hate to burst your bubble man. You are not bad at all, but, lol, fvck man, you are not as great as you think. It's just stupid to go on bragging about what a fantastic bod you've got when anyone can just click on your myspace and see that it's not exactly true.

Stop inflating numbers. I mentioned 50lbs in 5 months, going from a fully dehydrated, underweight state to a fully hydrated, "buff" state.

I gained 10lbs in the first two weeks. A lot was water, a lot was just the fact that I haven't been eating nearly enough before. Beyond that I mentioned 35-37lbs of muscle mass, out of 50lbs or so total. That's certainly achievable. I guess you've never heard of starter gains. There's a guy who put on 40lbs in 2 weeks to win a car - not muscle of course, but he did it because of his knowledge of nutrition. He's also jacked and pretty ripped. Anyway, that's neither here no there.

A few progress pics for all you haters:

But in defense of myself I will say that I get messages from dudes on this forum in my inbox asking me for advice on chest and arms.. so that makes me a 'bit' proud

Toned is certainly less in size than having big muscles. If only these facts had anything to do with catching women.

As long as you have a BMI of at least 22 and less than 30, and are physically fit you can check the "look physically good" box. I dont recommend BMI's over 25 unless you're higher because you live at the gym.
HAHA. Firstly toned still doesn't mean what you think it does.

Second, here is my BMI calculation.

Height: 5 feet, 10 inches
Weight: 190 pounds

Your BMI is 27.3, indicating your weight is in the overweight category for adults of your height.

I assure you i am no where near fat. BMI is bullsh1t.

Stats for Willie Parker of the Steelers (super bowl record for longest run):
http://www.nfl.com/players/playerpage/494527

Height: 5 feet, 10 inches
Weight: 209 pounds

Your BMI is 30, indicating your weight is in the obese category for adults of your height.

Oh man that Willie Parker sure is obese. I don't know how he gets out of bed and still manages run a 4.3 forty.

Is it worth going to the gym 2 hours a day 5 days a week, just to hear girls say that?
Or you could go for 30-60 min 3 days a week and get equivalent if not better results.

While I agree that 2 hours a day 5 days a week does seem excessive, saying you can go 30-60 mins 3 days/week to get the same or better results isn't necessarily true. It depends entirely on your goals.

I saw your journal and noticed you're doing the 5x5. It's a great program with great progression and I was on something similar for months (Rippetoe). However, a 3 day full body split won't give you a bodybuilder physique (if that's what you're going for, and I believe most people here are striving more towards BB than powerlifting). You'll put on serious mass and develop a lot of strength, but certain areas will invariably be lacking, which is where isolations come which and, by extension, lengthen the duration of your workouts.

I'm on a 5 day BP split now and while most of my workouts are under an hour, some days get close to 90 minutes.

And yes BMI is trash - the mirror is the most accurate measurement tool.

md3sign - 3days a week is fine for a bodybuilding split. don't fall into the bbing.com trap of volume training, trust me, it is NOT required.

and one more thing.. saying that a 3day powerlifting split will not develop you evenly - show me ONE national calibre powerlifter who has dieted down for a bbing show and shown ANY weakness in his physique?

Cod3r, you think getting huge is easy?
Where did I state that ?? And also some of you are confusing, i'm not talking about being a mega-monster or compete in competittions, just a nice physique where my clothes become very tight and u can see my man tittts:p

When I say it's inadequate, I mean it from an aesthetic perspective. I don't doubt that a 3 day split is more than adequate for OVERALL mass and strength development - I've been on a such a program and I'm glad for every minute of it.

I'll use myself as an example. The progress pics in my thread yes I did put on a lot of mass, but if I cut right now and lost all that excess fat, I would have some clear imbalances. My traps are HUGE compared to everything else. I did a ton of deadlifting. My upper chest is nonexistent because all I did was BB bench and weighted dips. My arms are nowhere NEAR as big as they should be, because on a typical 3 day split you don't ever isolate your arms - you're always using them as a chain for something else.

All of these national powerlifters, yes, they're strong, but I haven't seen a single one looking like a pro BBer. Even if they dieted down you would still see imbalances in proportions. Not to say they're can't get jacked or ripped or what have you, but a powerlifter won't be targeting muscles the same way a bodybuilder will and they won't grow the same way or in the same proportions either.

By that token, show me one IFBB pro who is on a 3 day full body split.

Also, the amount of volume necessary for each person varies. Example:

http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=852351

This guy is the largest NATURAL bodybuilder I have seen in my life, and he doesn't even compete. He trains on a 9 day BP split - 4 work days, 1 off, 4 work days, 1 off - repeat. His volume is INSANE. I couldn't do that, but it works for him and very well might I add.

I think we both know that volume and periodization are more advanced topics that play out differently for different people and are affected by countless variables, the specific program being one.

My argument against a 3 day full body split was that for someone who has already built up the necessary strength and size foundation and is looking to create a classical physique (which has very specific proportions based on wrist circumference), they need to move on to a more advanced program that still uses the compound lifts but also incorporates a good deal of accessory work.

That said I believe skinny kids looking to put on mass and join the 200lb club should get on a 3 day full body split, a la Rippetoe or Starr 5x5.

You made your case like a lawyer. Stable job. Good guy. Ready for something real. All true. All irrelevant.

She weighed your points, nodded along, felt nothing — then fell hard for some tattooed bartender with a motorcycle and a gambling problem.

Logic is where attraction goes to die. The "22 Rules" work a level deeper, on the subconscious switches that decide within minutes whether you register as a MAN or as part of the furniture.

Stop presenting evidence. Start flipping switches.
