A good technique

go up to a girl you like or something, and then ask her "hey what are you doing this weekend?" and if she responds it and then she says "Why?" at the end, say this " Oh i Just wanted to know" and then wink at her, it will make her crazy.

No it doesnt sound like a good idea. If you were socially intelligent then you wouldnt ask such a question, UNLESS its something stupid and you wanna make fun of her. But if someone asks you why youre gonna go to a movie, hang out with your family or wash your dog i be you would be kinda like...wtf.

kind of unoriginal.

Try this:

Go up to a girl in the hall.

"What's your name?"

(Reply)

"(Repeat name to her) hmm... Thanks"

That gives you such a base to do whatever you want.

The next day go "(name) is it?"
and talk to her. Bingo Bango. You have a chance with a girl you've never talked to.
