A good approach

I read somewhere, I forgot that a good approach once you get eye contact is just go up to the girl and say "you are really pretty."
I know it might feed her ego a bit. But it is a confidant thing to do. It also shows that you got balls and isn't a cheesy pickup line. What do you guys think?
