Not goal driven - To achieve what exactly? I can pay my bills, I have a home which is paid for fully, a decent
state of health, I can get around in a variety of owned vehicles, I've already seen a great deal of the world and
I'm too old to responsibly start fathering children so what exactly should I be driving towards? I have nothing
to gain or prove.
I'm not sure what your age is, but what you've attained is exactly what so many young people think is impossible. "I can never own a home, that's unattainable these days, so why should I work?". "There's nothing that I can accomplish for myself, so I just won't work, I'll unplug from society".

I believe you get what you work for and that nobody is queueing up to give
me a free ride in any respect.
This is what the American Dream used to be. People just wanted an opportunity, to live life and survive. Now days people want to be provided for. This is part of the cost of stamping out masculinity. Men want to take from life, carve out their place, and build with their hands, and their mind.

change in priorities.

what didn't exist then, exists now.

phone has all the entertainment you need. youtube, twitch, twitter, instagram, spotify, porn, free movies/tv shows. Don't need to go anywhere. Therefore no need to get a high paying job -> no motivation to put effort because "what's the point lol"? but it does get boring after a while. Hence depression "feel lost" don't know what to do with my life.

This took me a while to figure out, but for me, I wanted to design my life around what I want to be able to do. That is to have multiple fbuddies and friends to hang out with. so for that it would mean living in an area (with roommates) where its close to where I like to go pickup girls. and getting a hobby that helps out with the friends part (boxing). I don't care about prestige (and honestly, your parents don't care either. as much as they tell you about education. as long as your handsome, charming, got an attractive girlfriend, and are happy they don't care what you do for a living. I say this as someone with strict religious parents. Not the lax "i don't care what my kid does as long as he's happy" types) or how I'm suppose to be, what I'm suppose to have accomplished by a certain age. Just about being true to myself.

Me personally I hate working. not that I haven't found my passion yet meme. So the jobs I pick usually attract the slacker "ayy weed lmao" type person (which is usually hilarious guys that are fun to hang around. that help make the day go by faster. But just bad with money). Its not much money. Which means you may need to work 3 jobs (including weekends) like me, so that you can afford to live in a good area, but its worth it. Because that free time, you can spend doing the things you want: pickup on the weekends + hobbies during the weekdays. maybe it will not always be this way. but that just means readjusting your lifestyle again so that you are being true to yourself again. I don't worry about the future. I worry about right now. because the present is all we have.

Lol. It's like "Why don't you kids go outside and play?". No need, I can see the world on my XBox. Those humans in the floaty chairs from Wall-E were not far off the mark.

That would have worked better for me when I was younger. But I'm a natural introvert, and as I've gotten older I've realized how much I enjoy and value my solitude. Real friends have always been more important to me that acquaintances. I guess this is why I find LTRs more satisfying than the plate spinning, although as I said it appealed to me more when I was younger.

I wouldn’t say it’s Low T, think it’s that they don’t see the value in it. Four years of your life to get degree and put yourself $100,000 in debt to get a decent paying job. Not sure if it’s worth it.

Another reason women outnumber men in college in record numbers is the sexual market is deregulated and feminism and sexual liberation has given women control over their reproductive Heath and sexual expression. When women lose their virginity at 14-15, sleep with alphas in their 20s, the average man doesn’t see the point of higher education.

Before, when woman HAD to be virgins and didn’t have access to society’s resources, a man would see the benefit of a degree and higher paying job, he would get the resources for sex with a virgin wife. Now? Dont even think about it.

Not saying college is a bad thing, but if I could do it again, I wouldn’t do the same thing.
The 4 years is not so bad, if the courses are such that someone would want to take them for his own edification - and especially if the parents are paying for his living expenses. The cost is another factor, and there it is a pure bond purchase, taking into account the increase in income-ability and joy of job (or the lessening of the nastyness of the job, as it were). In my day, the cost was so cheap, especially after getting lots of scholarships, that it wasn't an issue. But nowadays, it's a HUGE issue.

I’m an X-er, but I certainly see the huge increase in college costs that Millennials and now Zoomers face. I did undergrad in the mid 90s (as a commuter) for $9,800 per year. Obviously that’s a steal at today’s prices.
My tuition at State U was less than $1K/yr in the early '80s , and ended up being $1800/yr my last year. In the late 70s, my sister paid about $550/yr! (Here, a "year" means 2 semesters.)

Bear in mind however, that 1970 dollars were the equivalent of $7, and 1980 dollars are about $3.32.
Yeah, college is overpriced. But what do you expect to pay for a Communist education these days?

Yes, I've alluded to this in the past. Men are starting to see how BetaBuxxing - which had always been available to the 'cel-tier chump - doesn't work anymore, so what's the point? NEET, video games & OnlyFans/Chaturbate is the path of least resistance.

The story is behind a paywall, anyone subscribe to the WSJ? lol

There are pros and cons here.

Cons: college is now openly a communist dictatorship pushing every evil, satanic agenda: masks, needles, invisible bugs, feminism, racial equality, "climate change" and every manner of stupid lie imaginable or not.

Colleges and all schools are now openly operating as prisons, including quarantining, tracking and tracing and depersonalization.

Pros: now, if you are dumb enough to actually fall $100K to $250K in debt to be brainwashed and humiliated, at least the male to female ratios are very favorable! Usually 3F to every 2M.
There is no paywall for those pirate-minded 'net surfers who have Firefox's "Bypass Paywalls" add-on.

This assumes that the only reason to make money is to get laid. Women are not the only reason to exist.
They are a nice add-on, however.

Agreed. But I do wonder about wasted talent. If a guy faces a lot of rejections from women early on, it might destroy his drive/passion to pursue his career interests. Not that he’s doing it FOR women, but it might take a toll on his overall confidence and self-esteem.

I did well academically in high school and college because I didn’t even realize (at the time) that the girls were all ignoring and/or friendzoning me. (I just studied, hung out with guy friends and assumed the girlfriend thing would “just happen.”) Ignorance was bliss. I owe my GPA to the blue pill. No joke.

Well, there is always the reason to buy stuff - and be able to afford an early retirement, and chase foreign women. But I could see someone working a dead end job that just doesn't see the point of doing anything other than NEETBuxxing.

I suppose. Men should have a goal in their career though. For all the talk about self improvement here, that should be a given.
You should have a plan. Even if you don't, supporting yourself should be a good boost for your sense of self worth.
