"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

The city that sleeps. Sometimes.
If you really want to escape the matrix and live your life by your own rules, like a real man, please make sure that you've read:

"Red Queen"
"Sperm Wars"
"The Selfish Gene"

i know tons of people on this board probably did so already, but if you have not, please do so if you are into the whole DJ, or simply being a real man thing.

It will kick the **** out of your inner AFC. It will change the way you see the world around you..

But if you think you might be too nice of a guy, and should probably lead a normal life, and you are not strong enough to be on your own - then its probably not for you. Just like in the matrix, once you take the red pill, there is no going back.

"She Laughed All Night. Then She Ghosted You. Here's Why."

Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.

Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?

You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.

Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.

The Third Chimpanzee

I'd like to add another title here, if I may my fellow Chicagoan and vicious pimp/player/mackdad. It's a book called "The Third Chimpanzee: The Evolution and Future of the Human Species", by Jared Diamond. Though not the same as the three you mentioned, it definitely runs in the same general direction let's say.

Of particular interest to DJ's would be the areas where the evolution of human sexuality is covered. If nothing else, you all will learn something. Personally , I can (somewhere in the remote recesses of my mind) truly "appreciate" our species' closest living relative, the chimpanzees' , way of dealing with all things DJ-related. They seem to have a penchant for clubbing to death rival males, whacking out any other rival males who may pose any further threat, and dispossessing them of their females, even whacking their young in many circumstances ( as in LaCosa Nostra, so with the chimps) , to totally wipe out as much as possible said rival males' genetic successes.

Sounds brutal right? But, like it or not, it's us. This is basic humanity 101. Skin color, ethnicity, creed (well, creeds only came along much later as our brains grew larger and with them our capacity for artistic and abstract thought ; a double-edged sword indeed) , all that is set aside here, and we deal with what all of our common ancestors truly were once like in some remote distant past, a past that is truly lost in the mists of layers and layers of Time. Maybe it goes a little ways towards explaining why "tribal" house music , so heavily percussion-laden, is oftentimes so popular at nightclubs where sexual tension between males and females, and males and males, tends to run highest. Somewhere in all of our brains, we still somehow "respond" to that ancient universal sound of those most simple of instruments: ancient tribal drums. Anyone who doubts that we're animals, sometimes better, much of the time far worse , than those that walk on all fours ( as a wise man once wrote), anyone who thinks that we're all some "god's special little creatures", ought to read not only the books that Egoist suggested, but this one that I'm suggesting. They might well change your outlook on things and on DJ'ing in particular.
