Hey guys, it's been a while since I last posted. I had started a journal before but haven't really been keeping up with it for two reasons. Firstly because I'm too lazy but also because I noticed that I was really over thinking everything. I was viewing social interaction and pickup as some kind of formulated plan rather than just connecting with people. Anyways, this is actually a follow up to my other post title about uncontrollable smiling. A few other members have commented that they had the same problem. This is a sign of social anxiety, I am sure without doubt.
During the past two weeks I've started practicing meditation and stopped fapping as frequently. I noticed the benefits from meditation almost immediately and after a few days I noticed that I no longer had the urge to fap. I also felt much more confident and comfortable socializing. I did relapse twice during these two weeks but compared to how often I used to PMO, I'd consider this progress. I'm no longer attracted to porn, I despise it in fact but I've noticed how habitual it has become.
In these past two weeks I've felt much more confident in myself, I've been able to go much harder in the gym, and I feel like I have some control in a conversation. My mind no longer goes blank when I'm talking to people and my urge to smile is almost completely gone. Or at least was.. Yesterday after coming down from a marijuana high I gave in to the urge and today I've noticed how much of an effect they've had on me. My head is feeling more clear today but yesterday I couldn't talk to someone without smiling uncontrollably and my meditation session went horribly. I can still feel some of the effects today.
Anyways, what I'm trying to get out of this post is this: STOP FAPPING and learn to calm your mind by any means necessary, this will make a huge difference. If you are an overthinker like I am, look into meditation. You'll feel more present and aware and it'll make a huge difference in your life. You'll realize that happiness is within you and you don't need drugs or alcohol to express it. Once you realize that talking with other people is like talking to yourself, conversations will flow more freely and they'll actually feel genuine. Stop over thinking about when you should call a girl back, or if and when you should neg hit or compliment, or when to text, etc. Once you are more mindful and focused on your own life, this thought process wont be going through your head; just connect with people and learn to feed off their vibes.
I feel like this post is getting a bit long so I'll leave this for anyone who's interested.

These are the basics of meditation; you may or may not the techniques in here but it will give you a strong foundation on where to start. Experiment and see what works best for you. I'll always switch it up; sometimes I'll listen to a guide, sometimes in the quiet, maybe I'll use a timer sometimes and other times I'll just enjoy the moment until I feel content. Start with 5 minutes a day until you can sit still for longer. I meditate for 20 minutes before bed everyday and it flies by now. I hope you guys will look into it; I can only imagine what my meditative journey will bring in a year's time from now.
