"So, What Do You Do for Fun?"

She asks it casually, mid-sip. And you feel the floor open up, because the honest answer is work, gym, and a couple shows you're half-watching.

Women rarely say this out loud, but a man with a life is attractive before he says a word. The guy who spent Saturday deep-sea fishing and came back with photos and a story — he walks in already interesting.

The "22 Rules" pushed me to build a life worth talking about. Turns out the fastest way to be interesting to women is to be interested in your own life first.

Quick question: Is it unreasonable for a girl to agree to a lunch "date" without some interest?

I managed to score this girl's phone#, and after some chatting, she said she's not ready for dating again and shouldn't have given me her number. I let that go for about a week and stopped into her deli for some coffee. She was her normal, cheery, (sexy), self. She tore a sandwich order while I was standing there and some other woman was ordering a sandwich. I chalked it up to nervousness...

Anyways, I started talkin to her again (SMS) and after a bit of con-artistry on my part ("...you burnt my coffee, you owe me"), she agreed to lunch tomorrow. I told her that it's a "non-date date" and she said, "Yes it is."

I figure I could try and capitalize tomorrow and maybe score an actual date...but I'm not sure if she's doing it out of pity, or she's interested.

I'll post the results tomorrow; 5PM PDT

"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

Everywhere you want to be.... I'm like a Visa card
She'll decide what kind of date it is based on what you make it. If you hang back and just chit-chat, you might as well be another one of her girlfriends. Make sure you get some kind of flirting in there. Kino is always good. Try to twist the topic into something interesting, like what turns her on. You have fresh clay here man! Mould it into the shape you want.

Hey guys...

I was going to go into the date with a "I don't care what happens" attitude. I'd definitely amp up the kino, tease her.

Yes, I said "was."

About 15 minutes before the "date" she msg'd me and said, "I feel like crap and I'm going home. Then I'm going to bed. I'm sorry." (This was 15 minutes after she gets off work..bout an hour and half before she goes to next job.)

I thought this was a normal copout, but apparently my co-workers who go to the deli said she wasn't her normal self. So, perhaps it's legit.

I simply responded with, "It's ok. I'm sorry to hear you're not feeling well. We can do it another time." It would seem the ball is in her court to re-schedule, but I'm doubting she'll do it. Hell, she's barely 19.

Anyways, I'm gonna call her Sunday and see how she's doing. However, I WON'T mention re-scheduling dinner or anything. I'm only going to find out how she feels, hope she feels better and end it.

It's SO hard to not take this sh!t personal. But hey, it's her loss...

Ive had girls bail with the sick excuse to. I then move onto the next one immediately that evening. Especially if they do it via text message, the most informal crap lol.

Ignore her for a week, dont msg or call her or ask her if shes feeling better. Let her contact you and IN THE MEANTIME FOCUS ON GETTING MORE DIGITS from the other 4 billion women out there. Good luck

"You'll Never Feel READY to Walk Over"

Next Monday you'll feel more confident. After the gym you'll feel more confident. After one more drink you'll feel more confident. After you get a better haircut, a better jacket, a better job.

You've been "getting ready" for two years.

She's standing ten feet away right now. She'll be gone in four minutes. No amount of preparation will manufacture the courage that only comes from moving your feet.

Walk over. Stumble through the first sentence. Let it be clumsy. Let it be imperfect. You will feel more alive in those ten seconds than you have all month.
