I always hear about how it's soo hard to approach a group of women in the bar. I've done this many different times, and almost always gets me in the door, so to speak.
There's the group of ladies over there. This can be done solo, or with your wingman (wingmen?)... Just walk up and say, "Hi, do you mind if I (we) join you?" as you start to sit down.
The worst response that I've received was, "We're having a conversation. Sorry."
Once your sitting down, the pressure is off, just make a comment about anything in the surroundings... if you can't find anything, just introduce yourself, and the conversation should start to flow.
