I ran across a true 9 on POF way back in the day. She had ONE picture up and it was blurry. I asked her why she only had one blurry pic up and she said she gets "hounded" if she puts up more. She ended up puttting more pics up of her for me to see, and she was phenomenal looking, with a nice inviting smile to boot. I ended up fvcking that one up, but that was one of the last legitimate 9's I remember seeing on a dating site, and actually being able to talk to. The whole issue with 9's and online dating is they will basically get run off the site. Too many messages and attention. With 100+ messges a day, it may be fun for them in the beginning, but it quickly loses it's luster. And the ones that do end up staying will do it just for the attention and ego boost, therefore they're damaged goods anyways. So for the most part, it's a lose lose situation for a 9 on a dating site.
I'm not saying that they don't want to be on there. A 9 may have her pick of the litter, therefore she will be looking for a 9 guy, with game, personality and some combination of LMS. Just like we're looking for that uncatchable unicorn, so are they for the most part. At least at a bar, the 5 guy in the corner has to work up the nerve to hit on the 9, whereas on a website, anyone with a computer can send her a message, with virtually no effort required.
I heard a story about some guy celebrities complaining that they couldn't go on dating websites. That some had tried, but no one they talked to believed that they were really them. First thought: "why the fvck does a celebrity NEED to go on a dating website??" I guess it's like the HB9 that has plenty of options out there in the real world, but it doesn't mean that they necessarily want to entertain those current options.
