Every Month is white history month. Columbus day? Presidents day? Independence day? In the end of the day, history is history, no matter the color, but you can't say that most of the american history is centered around white men. Usually Majorities don't get all the things you mentioned because they have been getting it all along. That would be like me starting a heterosexual rights group. Total waste of time. I'm not saying I agree with it, but this would be my guess at the reasoning behind it
i'm not saying at all that american history isnt centered around white men. as you said though, history is history. no matter how much the pc police may want to, they cant go through and color in all the textbook pictures of the white founding fathers and make em look black. but whatever, i just think that there's no reason why we cant say every month is AMERICAN history month? why does ANY ONE race need their own month? fair is fair. history is history. if black people want more holidays named after them, generate more great men and women who choose dates outside the month of february to do their good deeds. and yea, i know there's no good reasoning behind the other things. it just is. and we're all supposed to swallow it over and over and say "mmm" with a big smile on our faces. all i want is fairness. equality. as far as im concerned NO ONE is entitled to money from ANYONE based on race. give it to the ones most deserving, no matter what the race. i graduated hs with a perfect gpa at a 5A suburban accredited school and am paying out of my ass to go to a decent college. but im also a middle class white kid.
not really fear, but you have to remember why these things were started in the first place. The NAACP was started way back when when black were considered 3rd class citizens as a whole. You cannot tell me that they wouldn't need some sort of group to stand up for their rights and aid in there advancement as a people.
oh it's most definitely fear. trust me. getting legitimately called racist is to be a social pariah for a length of time. and true, the naacp WAS necessary when it was started. but black people have now officially had 150 years since slavery was abolished. ive never met anyone 150 years old. so none of the slaves or slaveowners are left. id say that we all start on a reasonably level playing field. look at the asian population. 65 years ago, we put them in internment camps. now, as a population, they have the highest rate of all racial groups of college educated individuals. coincidence? i dont think so. either way, the naacp has become an outdated, obsolete, unnecessary organization that reminds everyone about the differences between blacks and everyone else. not helpful.
I agree that this whole racism sh1t is waaaay overblown. I get just as annoyed with black people pulling the race card as much as anyone. But the sad truth is that white people also do the same thing. This one white guy at my Job got all "offended" when a manager called me black. I'm like, do you think I don't know that I am black? people need to get over themselves. This whole race issue won't die though until we can actually face it head on. Tippin around it and acting like it doesn't exist only makes it worse.

i dont think anyone tries to fit into the stereotypes just for the sake of doing it. lets take the "ghetto thug hardass" persona as an example. this stereotype is perpetuated because these people are shown to be successful over and over. they achieve material wealth and rap about that wealth, as well as the women, drugs, and good times that come with it. and as the saying goes, people follow the money (and pvssy).
