"Why Women Dump the Guys Who Try the Hardest"

You paid for dinner. You drove. You said "whatever you want is fine" every single time. All the effort, no expectations.

And she left anyway — probably for a guy who makes her pick up the pizza.

Painful. Also predictable. Her mind quietly concludes that anything requiring zero effort from her is worth exactly zero. You became a free sample, and free samples get taken for granted.

The 22 Rules flip the dynamic. Small shifts that get her investing effort, money, and time in you — until SHE'S the one afraid of losing YOU.

Ok so I have a couple of POF plates spinning (meaning I have dated them more than once and they want to keep seeing me. I haven't fcked either but have made out with one and kiss closed the other) and I am wondering... how much texting/contact is enough? Like most chics these days they are text machines.

I have read the good advice in this thread Facebook, POF & Texting and am (mostly) following these basic rules:
1) let them initiate (unless it is for logistics)
2) take longer to respond then they do
3) never apologize for the length of time it takes to reply
4) answer questions incompletely
5) leave some large gaps in responses (4 hrs+)
6) use innuendo more than flattery
7) randomly change subjects
8) use an authoritative tone (I'd like to go to the festival Saturday, are you free?)

However, even with the gaps, it can still be a sh!tload of contact. Any thoughts on how much is too much? I want to keep interest but I don't want to go overboard.

Thanks

"She Liked You in March. It's October Now."

Attraction runs on a clock.

She flirted for weeks. Touched your arm. Found reasons to be alone with you. And you were careful. Respectful. Waiting for the right moment.

The moment had a shelf life. It expired around month two, and by the time you asked her out, she'd quietly filed you under "little brother."

One of the hardest lessons inside the 22 Rules: women rarely wait. Interest either grows or it decays, and nothing decays it faster than a man who never moves.

Make the move while she's still inventing reasons to be near you.

Honestly too many "rules" to follow when it comes to texting.

I just mirror the depth of their responses and the time it takes them to reply. Some chicks text back instantly with engaging questions/conversations some take forever and reply with one worded answers.

You don't want to try turning delayed one worded replies into conversations, just mirror them then have them tag along to something you're planning on doing.

It really shouldn't have to be anymore complicated than that. Some girls will show tons of interest some won't and some will play games just to have you chasing them. Don't fall into it. Mirror and act accordingly. Weed out the ones that make it natural and easy to progress.

To avoid stress/confusion don't ever ever try turning a situation around via texts ie. being funny/witty etc. just don't put yourself in the category of competing for her attention.

Do not be afraid to next a woman who you view as a hb8+ if she seems to lack the desire to make getting with her easy. F*ck games, next!

It's not the amount of texting that matters, it's the content. If you remain fun and flirty, you can text as much as you want. If you're playing 20 questions or talking about the weather, then you're going to just clutter up her phone with boring garbage.

All good advice here.

IMO texting is good at the beginning, ecspecially if you get the number from online dating, it's a good way to build rapport and show your fun, witty, self a little bit. But once you two meet and get going, then it's good to keep it to a minimum. If it was up to chicks, they'd be texting you all day and night, don't reciprocate that. Leave days in-between communicating. Keep her wondering, and/or missing talking to you.

"Give her the gift of missing you."

But when you do text, don't rush it, and/or leave something out there to be mis-interpreted. It should just flow, comfortably. If not, don't reply. Get busy with something else, then something will pop in your head. This actually happened to me the other day, a chick texted me a "good morning, along with something she was doing, as well as trying to be cute." I wanted to get back to her with a good morning and something "cute" of my own, and was about to force a reply, then stopped myself. Then I got some breakfast, read some news, then something popped in my head, and I sent it.

She loved it, and I went on with the rest of my day knowing that she was probably thinking about me

Simple texts are fine too. No problem with one word texts. But if you're going to try to be witty and funny.....then be witty and funny.

Oh hell, I read the title wrong. I thought 35+plates... Was wondering WTF you did for a living to have that much time :)

"Stop Asking Your Friends What to Text Her"

Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."

You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.

She's been waiting forty minutes.

Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.

Its not a plate if you're not banging them; its a prospect. Its something you ordered off the menu but haven't received yet.

Those rules are good analytically, but really they should just become how you operate. My rule of thumb is to not spend time on texts. Read, shoot off responses to the ones I want to bother with, and move on to life. I keep the phone on silent or vibrate, so I really don't care when texts come in, I just get them when i see them or when I want to reply if I've already scoped them out once and didn't want to bother at the time.

At home, i rarely have my phone on me. I don't feel that I need to be that connected to the world. If i get into a conversation with someone, I wil keep it going, but that's about it. I control my life, not the buzzer on my phone. Modern technology is great if you harness it for your own uses. No longer do you have to call a home phone and hope you get them, or reverse, run to the phone because someone is calling you. Now you can drop them texts and people can respond at their leisure.
