Hey guys.....been reading this board for awhile thought I would post. A little background for you guys. I am a 30 year old dude from the West coast....who last year moved to the TOUGH east coast. I needed the change and was glad when it finally happened. NOW the problem I am having is I only know a couple of dudes who came out with me from the west coast. I have met a few guys at work here but the problem is everyone I know is either Taken (girlfriend) or just borderline sucks at being a Wingman. I have been here a year but I am having a really tough time meeting new people (both guys and gals). I have a lot of friends on the west coast so I am really struggling in this new east coast enviornment. Any in this similar situation? Meeting woman has been really tough...although I do have to admit I am a bit of a wuss. The gals are here....it's just solo stuff is tough for me...and with no wingmen....what is your guys suggestion? Please no quit being a ***** and just solo it....cause every guy knows this is tougher than it sounds. Lastly I am not gay...so how the hell do you meet new guy friends?? I have met the max number of people I will at my job, it's a very old company and 80% of the people are out of my age range for both dating and hanging out. I am working on the new job situation....but seriously how the hell can I meet new people? One more thing....anyone ever have pretty much 90% no reaction to smiles? I mean this city is full of woman and I try to smile as much as possible but I don't get any reaction!!! I am not an UGLY guy.....6'1 200 not bad looking probably a 7 or 8. But the damn chicks are either so stuck up or I am doing something crazy in my smile. It's tough!!!!! Any suggestions would be awesome!!!!!

yeah that is one of the problems...everyone I know here are not into sports at all...and I am!!!!! I know I need to just get some balls....but it's tough to go sign up for some sports leagues not knowing anyone. I need that one person to come along with me!!! It's all about getting that first step....I just guess I gotta hit that point as quick as possible.

I am sort of in the same situation as you since I recently relocated to the city from my college town. Without going into too much detail, the key is networking through common interests, hobbies, and activities. Just getting yourself out there, being receptive to new people and initiating social time should do the trick. My plan; meet people at the gym, house parties, and through people I know here who are attending college. While our situations might differ slightly, the same basic steps are needed for both of us to really succeed.

Give it time. Relocating is tough sometimes. It’s worth it if you stick with it and put in some effort. The women will come!

Take dance classes. And go ALONE. You need NO partner to take dance classes.

That's a start.

You can also join a gym...one that has basketball/raquetball, etc.

Or you can join some kind of "league".

wow, I did the opposite, went from East to West and I'm finding the same thing. I don't have many friends here and I'm not sure how to go about finding more to be honest, it's getting pretty frustrating. It gets worse when I still talk to my friends back east and hearing about all the things I'm missing out on. I love my job right now, it's a dream job for sure, but I hate my time off, how screwed up is that.

I definitely did ALOT better with women back east, I'm really struggling here, when I do meet some and I think a date has gone well, that's pretty much as far as it seems to go. It's like I've moved to a different world or something, it seems so different out her.
