as far as colorado goes, this has been known for quite some time. there is TREMEMDOUS resistance to doing it because of the environmentalists. the US is in no short supply of crude at all. only about 15%-20% of the proven reserves are "allowed" to be tapped.

I don't know about any of that Colorado s.hit, but my family knows some big wig oil dudes here in Cali and he claims that there is enough oil still here in California alone to run the US for 10 years or so. He says the only reason we can't get it is cause people have built houses over it. Plus we got that s.hit in Alaska. It all spells out to me not being to worried about running out of oil anytime soon.
