1) For you guys, do you smile when approaching women and how much do you smile? In the past, I smiled too much and it came off as beta, and now I'm barely smiling at all. Either that or just a weak smile. What do you guys do? Flash your teeth kind of smile to give them the friendly fuzzy feeling?

2) A lot of women always say humour is the #1 quality in a man. Is this really the case or are these women unsure of what they want? By humour, I mean the class clown type of funny humour, the one who's always making everyone in the room laugh. The strange thing is that in every couple I've noticed since young, the man is never in the humour-mood but more of the flirty mood.
Reason I'm asking this is because I'm not a class-clown or wacky-funny guy, I'm more of the stoic type like most guys.

3) When you guys approach a girl and despite trying and not able to get her number, do you just say "good day", "bye" to the girl before walking off? This part always comes across as awkward to me, like losing a battle and walking away with your tail between your legs. Any better way to make a cool exit?

What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.

You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.

1) Of course you smile. You have to look like you want to talk to them. Otherwise you'll come off as a weirdo. I usually try to start off by making a small joke and then smile to let her know I'm joking. Which leads me to 2). I'm a bit of a sarcastic guy but in a funny way. It seems to work very well with chicks. But I'm also not the loudest person in the room (class clown). I'll only joke with the people I'm hanging around with. 3) When experiencing rejection, all you have to do is smile (not showing teeth) and say you understand, have a good one and walk away. No need to be awkward about it.

I smile when I'm happy or laughing.

When I make girls laugh, I'm not trying to. It usually happens when I make a bold or sarcastic statement. Women will crack up and I will only smile because smiles are kind of contagious and goofy. Its hard not to smile when someone you like is laughing.
