Hello guys, I am a young medical student from Brazil, I study in a public university and I'm poor and broke. I know this forum since I tried to read the book of pook a couple of years ago, but this is my first post ever here. The reason why I am posting here is simple: I want to be successful in my career and in all aspects of my life and I think this place is a good place to start asking these questions. Lately I've feeling a bit depressed and with no motivation to keep studying, idk, it just seems too far away and it's giving no immediate return. I hope someone understand me and give good advice. I feel like I don't have real friends, reading the posts of you guys on this forum gives me some motivation. I've now decided to improve my life in all aspects, I tried this once and got to study medicine in a federal university, but the pandemic made me loose track of all my achievements, it felt meaningless. English is not my native language, so ignore any grammatical errors, have a great day!

Chill, bro. We got you.

Have you tried hitting the gym? I have heard its one of the best anti-depressants in the world.

No matter the length of any degree program, that time is going to pass. In all likelihood, you will still be here. And either you'll be a doctor or you won't. It's up to you.

Your post makes me think of a sailor lost at sea. It might sound cliché, but sometimes, you need to find yourself.

How do you do that? Some people travel alone to gain experience, clarity, and to break routine and see life from a different perspective.

But if you don’t have the time or financial means to do that, start by focusing on what you're passionate about, your goals, your dreams and try to help others along the way. That alone can create a strong sense of purpose. Basically, work on yourself, and even physical exercise helps a lot.

Just to add, I’m not sure what happened during COVID that made you feel like your degree lost its meaning, but to be honest, you’ll gain far more by pushing through and completing it. I know it’s hard to keep going without immediate results, but you have to keep your eyes on the long-term rewards waiting at the finish line.

It’s tough when success feels far away, but the path you're on can still lead you to the life you want; you just have to keep moving forward, one step at a time.

Continue growing as an individual and learn emotional IQ or awareness to better cultivate relationships with people and yourself. As Suave said, go to the Gym, take walks in the morning and knock out a few push ups and squats and meditation. Get involve in your community by volunteering, going to church, hobby groups and make friends with people in your campus. Your young go out there and have fun, go to the movies on the weekends and play basketball or soccer with the guys on your free time. Yes, learn how to make money financially, have a few side hustles but pursue noble goals that enhances other people's lives in your community. Write books, create art and build a legacy, the world is your garden pretty much at that age.

Final phase of studying feels like incredble chore with no pay off.

But eventually you will pass through that and pay off will come.

Medical studies are great. Persevere.

You are probably depressed. You need an outlet. Find some social things to do. Take up a hobby. The worst thing you can do is be alone in your head. Trust when I say, I know where you are, I've been there a few times before.
