OK, so I'll take the girl at her word that she's a virgin.
Now in my opinion, this is the wrong kind of virgin. This girl gives me bad (as in crazy and attention hore) vibes.

OK but sexual desire is what differentiates a romantic relationship from a friendship, does it not?

And since they have happily waited two years to simply kiss, let alone be physically affectionate with each other (not talking about PIV sex since remaining a virgin till marriage is important to her) and perhaps longer since no current plans to tie the knot from what I read, what they have is a friendship not a romantic relationship, imo.

So she's gonna marry a man who is essentially a platonic "friend" and then attempt to engage in a sexual relationship with him?

Sounds like a cope and like there is no sexual attraction between them. It's familiar and comfortable.
