2011-v3 boards don't have Z270 chipset, wtf

Why do I only see mobos that have the new 2011-v3 socket with X99 chipset, instead of the new Z270 chipset?

For example, if I want to build a brand new computer on 2011-v3 socket with i7-6950X CPU I am stuck with older X99 chipset motherboards. Don't get me wrong, X99 boards are not crap, it is just I am buying a brand new bleeding edge CPU for 1,600 bucks and forced to use older chipset. Please explain to me the idea behind it?
