And the government could guarantee an oil price in the same way that it guarantees a price for wheat, and the spigots will get quickly turned on; do you think the "drill, baby, drill" crowd would object to that? And the Strategic Petroleum Reserve could be tapped to smooth out the changes. Corporations could continue telework. Billy Bob hunting will just to pay more to fuel up his truck.

People won’t want to commute to the office with high gas prices. While Covid might be largely “over,” workers may want to still want to work from home in order to burn less gasoline.

I don't like SUVs in general. SUVs have gained popularity in recent times because they are more dog friendly than sedans. It's easier to put a dog in a Toyota Rav4 or Highlander than a Toyota Camry. The Millennial generation has been the biggest pet owning generation ever.

Sedans used to be considered the practical choice for a wide audience. I still like the basic sedan as an option but dog owners, often women, must have their SUVs.

Agreed. Millennials buy pets instead of having children. I still blame women. Every single woman I know buys an SUV. Makes no fvcking sense.

In my neck of the woods, SUVs are primarily driven by jackas5es that bought them to project some sort of lifestyle image. It's usually because they want to look like a tough guy, or a rapper, or some kind of upscale suburban soccer mom.

But SUVs are expensive to maintain and most of these people skip scheduled maintenance, so it's common to see a lot of SUVs in poor running condition that makes a lot of noise, emits smog, or causes accidents.

It brings a smile to my face whenever I see some poser filing up his/her Explorer, Jeep Rubicon, Wrangler, Highlander etc.... that is easily $140/tank in LA....

One of the problems with our output is that our current leaders have promised to get rid of oil. So obviously those in the oil industry are reluctant to invest in more production, because they don't know if they will receive support or obstructions.
