True, but if you had occasion to see a particular woman over the course of her menstrual cycle and payed attention you might be able to figure it out.

There's this asian lady that works the checkout counter at a chinese carry-out nearby, and she's not bad looking. When I first started seeing her I thought she may be the type who doesn't like americans or she just seemed to be in a relatively bad mood most of the time, not too bad, just a little unpleasant. Then one day, out of nowhere, when my food is ready she's all smiles and comments on how fast my food was prepared.

I was a bit shocked that she was being so ******dly friendly. I thought it was because she was probably used to seeing me, but the following week, she was back to her old self. Then, again, I come in on another day and she's really polite, smiling and everything, and says "goodbye" when I leave.

It seems "cyclic", could it be that when she's pleasant she's ovulating?

next time ask her if shes ovulating.

if she acts insulted just say that you were enjoying her pleasant demeanor and that you read an article blah blah blah...

worse that happens is that she punches you in the face.

at leats you'll have a funny memory from it.
