Housing prices are crazy, but you still have to choose somewhere to live

Hi guys!
In my city, housing prices are crazy because of real estate speculation. (3k per sqm).
But, after saving up for a down payment, I can finally start looking for a mortgage. With my budget, I can afford a small apartment (30–45 sqm) with a living room/kitchen, one bedroom, and one bathroom in a condo.


It’s not my dream home since I’d prefer a house or townhouse, but this first step allows me to live independently. In the future, I might rent it out and buy something bigger, maybe with a partner.


I’d like to hear how you managed your first home, especially keeping it nice for social and seduction POV, even on a budget. In my city (100k inhabitants), apartments are usually 50 to 65 sqm, which I cannot afford, but if I move about 10 km away, I could find something around 40–45 sqm which I can afford. Or I might settle for 25-30sqm in my hometown for the same price.
So like, would you buy a bigger house in the outskirts, or a very small one but in a city, for the same price?

The only thing I can say is that my first house wasn't one that I really wanted, but I got a good deal on it, so I stayed there until I paid it off and saved up enough money to get the place that I really wanted. Short term sacrifice for long term gain.

buy the one in the city that you can afford that is close to your business. later its likely simple to rent it when/if you want to move out to the villa.

look close at the calculator about the loan/vs rent/vs inflation. your goal is to increase your wealth. owning is not always the fastest way to increase depending on the terms of the loan.

get the least expensive that you can accept so that you can get rid of the loan faster.

That's basically the approach I took, except I've never really had any interest in being a landlord. Maybe if I was more handy as a DIY type of guy, but I'm not unfortunately. I flipped my house for a profit.

I have always gone out a ways to get the lower price - although when I'm PassportBro-ing, I always stay within easy public transit (metro service being the main requirement).

I don't know what that is. Actually, I was lucky, I knew someone who wanted to buy my house.

Solution- move to the Rio Grande Valley, where the housing is cheap, plenty of hot traditional, feminine Latinas and diverse women to cater to your whims, and cheap groceries and awesome bbq and mexican food and chinese buffets : ) Lol these girls were my cheerleaders in High School.
