I doubt it. The vast majority of Canadians live below the 50th parallel. That's on par with Germany and France.

Hi Bokanovsky,
I didn't know that!.....And looking at the statistics in the different States,there is no correlation between latitude and divorce rates either...Who knows?

You have to keep those numbers in context. They are not measuring the number of divorces per 1,000 marriages. Instead, they are measuring the number of divorces per 1,000 units of population (i.e. individuals) regardless of marital status. In other words, that 1,000 could be largely made up of children, widowers and widows, single people, etc.
To put it another way, if the marriage rate is low, the divorce rate will also be low. For example, Portugal has a marriage rate of 3.2 and a divorce rate of 1.7, while Russia has a marriage rate of 7.2 and a divorce rate of 3.9. This means that the actual divorce rates for those two countries are nearly identical (53% vs. 54%) despite the obvious climatic differences.
