Fellas, if you haven't already seen it, please watch "Casino". It's an outstanding movie that shows just how much chaos a narcissistic person can cause.

The movie starts out as a historically-inspired document/drama that tells the story of how the mafia built Las Vegas. The first half is a sort of documentary detailing how the skimming operation functioned in Vegas casinos. The second half details how it only takes one narcissistic person to fvck up the game for everyone else - it's a life lesson that should be taken to heart by all men.

Robert DeNiro's character "Ace" who is in the prime of his life (smart, successful, wealthy, respected) gets seduced by the ho0ker "Ginger" played masterfully by Sharon Stone. I think Sharon Stone even won a Golden Globe for her performance. In fact, she played the role so well that one has to wonder if she was even acting or if she was just tapping into the instinctive female narcissism that's hardwired into all women.....

In the movie, Ace falls victim to the age-old male delusion of thinking he can "change" a woman. Sorry, but it's not possible to change a wh0re into a housewife. Nor is it possible for most people to change their habits once they enter adulthood.

Also, a key plot point of the movie is how Ginger resents the happy life that Ace offered her and only married him out of financial interest. Instead she's infatuated with her pimp ex-boyfriend Lester Diamond who uses her and is emotionally abusive towards her.

This is another life lesson: women whom are addicted to abusive relationships are fundamentally damaged and a quality man should not invest time or effort into her.

Another life lesson in the movie is how Ginger uses the daughter that she had with Ace as leverage to exploit him financially. She hates him, wants him out of her life, but she still wants his money, and she uses her daughter to manipulate Ace at the behest of her pimp ex-boyfriend.

And finally, Ace is a good example of how even the most alpha of males can fall prey to the power of the poon.....

Guys, Casino is required viewing.... Watch it.... it may save your life...

His option was to realize she's bad news and leave her alone.

Great post about a great movie. I remember seeing Casino in the theater when I was 19 or 20. I came out of it exhausted by Sharon Stone's character. It was like being stuck in an elevator with a super annoying woman. But then I realized that she played the character extremely well to leave me feeling that way. But above all else it takes the hero Ace Rothstein down a few pegs. He's this big time gangster but can't walk away from (or even whack) that bytch. It's a story as old as time itself, a man who gains the world but is destroyed by his poor choice in love. The fact that she would rather have been with her dirtbag ex than a casino mogul goes to show you can't fix stupid. Their scenes together are operatic.

In addition to what you listed above, Stone's character also tries to get with Pesci, De Niro's right hand man (I don't know if I would say "friend").

Also: Casino, like most Marty movies has a killer soundtrack.

I remember seeing casino as a kid. Dont remember much of the plot lines but just so happens that I put it into my to be view list on prime.

I guess a lot of gangster/mafia movies follow the same premise. Touch alpha guy meets girl. Girl causes problem. Alpha tries to fix it and in the process is caught or killed.

Definitely going to watch it this weekend.

He indeed had the option. In fact, early on in the courtship Ginger straight up tells Ace that she doesn't have feelings for him. She tried to dissuade him, so I at least have to give the character credit for trying to warn Ace that he's walking into a trap.

But Ace was a victim of his own ego and the overwhelming power of good poon. He thought because he had succeeded in all other areas of his life that he could tame Ginger - WRONG.

Once Ace got entangled with Ginger it became almost impossible to get rid of her either because he developed feelings for her or that they had a child and now he's permanently tethered to her.

Ultimately, the relationship brought down the mafia casinos, Ace lost his best friend Nicki Santoro, his daughter was abused and traumatized, Ginger died of a drug overdose/murdered, and Ace ended up old/alone/bitter....

Nothing was accomplished and the relationship only caused him pain...

I would but i cant stand the sight of DeNiros face. The guy is libtard idiot.
I can't deny that Robert DeWeirdo's politics irritate me, but he's still a damn fine actor and it's still a good movie that every man needs to watch.

I have to say that Casino is Martin Scorsese's finest film...

I think Goodfellas is better, but Casino is still great.

If I boycotted movies based on personal politics I'd never watch a film again, haha.

I think GoodFellas, Taxi Driver and Raging Bull are his three best, but Casino's up there. I'm also a big fan of After Hours, but that's a weird one.

Don't want to talk about politics. But the casino movie is a scenario that plays out over and over again in our society.

Deniro a completely self made man from the ground up. Extremely successful, with business respect. Falls in love with Ginger, hot girl who wasn't there for his building process. She never respected him, and her disrespect and disdain grew with time. Her friend from over their years from her hood, Pechi was her on and off boyfriend pimp thing. Ginger put Pechi into Deniros life and started storms worth of negative drama.

This is the same situation so many men who become successful put themselves into. They build themselves, grow... Add a woman who never had any investment or part of his building process or suffering or growth. Topples the man or causes serious setbacks and delays.
